if you want to take guidance.
Peace and blessings and
mercy of Allah to all of you.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome.
I seek refuge with Allah
from the Shaitan, the stone.
With the name of Allah,
most Gracious, Most merciful
The topic is,
What the Quraían says about Hidayah,
translated as guidance.
What is the meaning
of the word in English, guidance generally?
Anything being manufactured,
anything, the person who manufactures
anything provides you with a booklet.
To follow that booklet,
you can guide or you can
operate the thing that
is being manufactured.
It also directs you,
if you open the booklet,
it directs you,
it directs you to different situations,
whatever you are dealing,
like you are dealing
with a car or a VCR
or a DVD player or anything.
So you direct the instructions
that are laid down
in that booklet,
to follow those instructions
so that you can
operate the thing properly.
That is the concept
of guidance or a guidebook.
If youíre traveling somewhere
you get a guidebook.
So guidance is something
that you have to reach
to a certain destination
or you have to operate something,
you need a booklet for guidance.
Since Allah has created us,
our lives, and the provision
that has been provided already
to us is the physical needs
and the psychological needs.
The physical needs you can eat
and you can drink,
what is lawful, unlawful,
that is provided to you
but the mind that asks questions
to satisfy the mind
that ask questions you require a book
to tell you how to lead your life
and how and what is the purpose
of mankind being born
or being in this world.
That is why Quraían
or the Book was sent down,
the purpose of Quraían
or the Book was sent down
by Allah for a guidance to mankind.
This Book is like a guidebook.
There is no other religious book
in this planet earth
which tells us that that book
is a book of guidance.
No book in the planet earth.
Like Bible, it does not say
that Bible is a book of guidance.
Bhagwat Geeta, Geeta, Avesta
or any other religious book
does not specify that this book
is a book of guidance,
how to guide your life.
Or the questions that are
crop up in your mind,
they donít answer.
They are theologies
or they are inventing something
which is not true.
So first of all this
is this general understanding
of the word guidance.
So how to guide your life,
the Book has provided.
And we will see in the ayats
in the Quraían how
and when guidance came to the world.
You must have heard
this narration in the Quraían
or you must have heard
from somebody that Adam
and his pair was in the Garden.
And Allah said -
I am saying it my own words -
said that you eat from whatever
you eat from the Garden
but do not go near a specific tree.
If you go to the specific tree ,
it will harm you.
And shaitan, also
Allah mentions in the Quraían
to Adam, that shaitan, the Satan,
is an enemy to you.
Beware of him.
So what happens,
shaitan by any means,
you know, thatís a whole narration
Iíve delivered separate lecture
what the Quraían says about shaitan,
but shaitan makes sure
in that Quraíanic ayahs that he leds
the Adam and his pair
to go near the tree which he was,
Allah asked him not to go.
So in other words,
Adam committed a mistake by the Satan.
So he was, he in plural
was sent down to this earth.
They were on this earth.
So when they came
to the earth from the Garden,
and Adam realized that
he had done a mistake
so he asked for forgiveness
and he learned some words from Allah
and that, from here I will start.
In Surah Al Baqara, 2:37, 38.
In further 38
So Adam and his pair
an all together were sent down
on this planet earth
and a instruction was given to them
that from Me there will come to you,
from Me, a guidance,
in Arabic is
Arabic
From Me will come guidance.
Whenever it comes to you,
the guidance
Arabic
Who will follow that guidance
Arabic
No fear over them
and they will not grieve.
So the guidance came to mankind
after they were on this planet earth,
the children of Adam.
The guidance came after,
Not to Adam it was instructions was given to Adam not to go near that tree
And if you go near to that tree you will be in trubel
So Adam an his pair
and all of us on this planet
are here and next
we are expecting guidance from Allah.
And because Allah says,
whenever guidance will come
and who will follow the guidance,
there will be no fear for him.
Now we will see how
to get guidance and what are
the things that are guidance.
In Surah Fatihah,
that is the first chapter, 1: 6,
That means, guide us
on to the straight path.
So in Surah Fatiahah
this is the 6th verse
and in prayers 5 times a day
in 4 rakahs in all,the rakats
itís 4 rakat or 3 rakat or 2 rakat,
2 units, 4 units or 3 units,
in every unit
we recite Surah Fatiahah,
the chapter Faithah.
And in every Fatihah,
when recite the Fatiahah, first chapter,
the sixth verse is saying
Arabic
meaning, guide us
on to the straight path.
We are continuously asking
from Allah to guide us
on to the straight path.
So every human being is asking
5 times a day from
the so-called labeled Muslim community,
Muslims, if they are praying,
they are asking guide us
on to the straight path.
So you look into the Book,
where is the guidance?
That is the topic.
So in Baqara, 2: 2.
Surah Fatihaha, the second book is,
the second chapter is
Al Baqara, 2: 2
This Book, this Book
I hold in my hand
this is normally said the Quraían.
Weíve got this
on it written the Quraían
but basically this is a book, the Book.
What is written down is a book,
what is written on piece of paper
or wherever we writesomething,
itís known as a book.
When we read the book,
that is Quraían., the Reading.
As I am reading,
when I read the ayahs,
that is the Quraían.
And when you see
and verify written down
that is the book.
So Allah says,
Arabic
that is the book,
does not have a doubt,
a guidance to those who guard.
Itís a very small verse
but it contains very depth.
First of all there is no book
on the planet earth
it says there is no
doubt in the book.
You cannot write this statement
on the Bible, Bhagwat Geeta,
Geeta, Avesta or even Hadith.
Because the scholars themselves
they say there are some zaieef Hadith,
meaning with faults.
So only Allah says
in the Quraían
because is the Creator.
He knows 100% perfect,
He knows what to say
and what to write.
So there is no doubt in it.
Then He says a guidance
to those who guard.
These two words,
thereís no doubt in it
and to those who guard
is not to be found
in any religious book of the world.
Because the Creator can
only say these words.
Because Heís the so-called
manufacturer of mankind.
He has created us.
He knows exactly our psyche.
So He has to provide
the Book for guidance.,
how to lead our lives.
And at the same time
He knows that we people,
mankind has the tendency to doubt.
We doubt our own selves.
We doubt others.
So He gives the confidence
that do not doubt in this Book
which is coming from the Lord,
the Cherisher, the Sustainer from the worlds.
So we have come to know
that the Book is the guidance.
First aspect is the book.
Now in Surah Younus, 10:37
the difference between the Quraían
and the book and
the similarity as well.
As I told you,
if you look into the ayat
in the Arabic
Arabic
the Arabic word, Quraían is there.
And below is
Arabic
And a detail of the book..
Arabic contains one ayah,
one verse contains the
Quraían and the Kitab.
Quraían means the reading
and Kitab means the book.
So you will note
there is a similarity and difference,
I will explain to you how.
Quraían means reading.
When Iím reading the writing,
what is been written down,
this written down is the book.
This what you see in front of you.
Arabic
This is the book -
because itís been written down.
And when I read it is Quraían.
So the Quraían, when you read
any book, a book, a simple,
any book is lying in your house
and if youíve not read it,
you donít know
whatís in the book.
Or there ës a newspaper,
youdonít read the newspaper,
you donít know whatís in the newspaper.
So when you read something,
then you understand what written.
So Allah is saying
not a new thing,
Heís saying a simple thing
Arabic
And this Quraían/the reading is not,
is not that anybody can produced
- except Allah, this one
Arabic
And when you open
and you can verify
confirm what is being said,
what is been read.
What Iím reading
you can confirm because
the booklets in your hands.
It, the reading is a confirmation
what is between his two hands
and tafseel al Kitab.
And you will come to know
what is the detail of the book.
The moment you read
you understand the details
of the book because you reading it.
If you donít read
you donít understand
the detail of the book,
what is the detail of the book.
So the reading is what?
It is a confirmation
what is in the book
and a detail or
explanation of the book.
Arabic
There is no doubt
in this from the
Lord of the worlds.
The Quraían/the reading of the book.
So the moment you read
the book, the book is detail,
an explanation comes from it.
Now to whom the Book was given?
First of all, we came to know that
that, this is a Book
which doesnít have a doubt.
Thereís no doubt init
and a guidance to those who guard.
Then we come to know
the difference between
the Quraían and the book.
Itís almost the same
- reading of the book is Quraían.
Now to whom the,
through which medium
this Book came to the world?
The messengers and the prophets,
we know but we have to verify
from the Quraían so
Now in this, these
ayaat are in continuation.
Surah Anam, 6: 83 to I read to 90.
They are all in continuity.
The important points that
we are going to collect from here.
First of all, in these ayahs,
there are 18 names of the prophet.
If you like to count them,
you can count them.
There are 18 names of the prophet.
And the important point is,
our topic is Hidayah, the guidance.
In ayah 86, sorry, 87, it says -
after reading all the prophetsí names
- He says, Allah says
Arabic
their father/ancestors
of all these prophets among,
not necessarily everybodyís father/ancestor,
but among their fathers
and among their offsprings
and among their brothers
Arabic
We chose them
Arabic
We guided them.
Arabic
We guided them to a straight path.
All these prophets are mentioned first,
18 prophets, in this verses,
ayats, and then it says
that among their fathers ,
not everyoneís fathers
but from their fathers
or ancestors and from their
offsprings and from their brothers
We chose them and
We guided them to the straight path.
Guidance. They guided.
They were guided
to the straight path.Straight path.
And then further says
Arabic
That is the guidance
whom Allah guides
Arabic
To whom He wills
from His servants.
Apart from the prophets, their ancestors,
their zurriyat/offsprings and
their brothers were also guided
by Allah to whom He wills.
And definitely we are
the offsprings of
all these, of the prophets.
And Allah says
Arabic
And if they associate about them,
then definitely we will be fail
in what we are doing.
Now further an important ayat is,
this is very, very important.
To these prophets,
what was given to them?
The names are 18 and
what was given to them?
It says here in this ayah.
Arabic
These are the prophets,
the context is the prophets.
These are those to whom
We gave al Kitab, the Book
and the Hukum, that is,the government
or the governance -
and the nabuwah,
the prophecy, the prophethood.
And then it says
Arabic
And if they reject
with it so without doubt
We will advocate
to the other people
who will not be the rejecters with it.
Meaning all mankind of all times
should believe that the Book
was given to all the prophets,
containing the Taurah, the Law,
containing the Injeel, the Good News,
containing the Zaboor, the piece,
containing the Alwah, the Tablets,
containing the Suhuf, the Pages -
everything is in the Book.
Because to all
was given the Book.
And He says if you reject
Arabic
If these people reject
that what was given to all of them,
the Book,, then Allah says,
so without doubt,
We will advocate to other people
who will not reject it.
So if the mankind
of all time are making the Bible
as the Book of God,
a separate book of God is not true.
It was never a Word of Allah, the Bible.
This Book, al Kitab was given
to all the prophets.
I read the names.
If you count it at your own,
there were 18 names.
And these 18 names,
with 18 names, the Book has occurred.
So the Book is one.
That is in the ayat
so people who reject
this, no problem, Allah says,
We will advocate
another people who will not reject this.
And further it says
Arabic
That is the guidance of Allah.
The next that
Arabic
That is the guidance of Allah.
Arabic
Then you imitate that guidance,
their guidance, of the prophets.
Whatever the prophets got the guidance,
written down in the Quraían,
you imitate, follow, imitate.
Arabic
Become in a muqtadi of not one,
all hum in Arabic is all.
These 18 names are mentioned,
that you have to follow, imitate them.
First it says
Arabic
meaning all mankind should
believe that is one
Book of Allah,
given to all the prophets.
And then further it says
Arabic
That is the guidance of Allah
Arabic
that you imitate their guidance.
Their guidance. Whose guidance?
All the prophetsí.
When we say we
believe in Ibraheem (pbuh)
we say we believe
in Moosa (pbuh)
or we believe in Essa pbuh,
we just say from the mere words.
Doyou know what
the Quraían says
about Ibraheem (pbuh)?
Do you know what the Quraían
says about Essa (pbuh)?
Do you know what Nuh (pbuh)
is mentioned, of what is mentioned
with Nuh (pbuh)?
So you have to,
there are events recorded Ahadith,
you can say, event or narrations,
are recorded of all the prophets.
Most of the, some
Allah has not described.
Itís up to Him.
But Ibraheem (pbuh),
the most famous personality,
the gigantic personalities
of the messengers are Ibraheem (pbuh),
Moosa (pbuh), Essa (pbuh) Dawood (pbuh),
Sulaiman (pbuh), Nuh (pbuh).
So you have to imitate them -
including Mohammed, Seal of the Prophets.
You have to imitate
all the prophets.
We have to take guidance
from all of them.
Because it says
Arabic
That is the guidance
of Allah
Arabic
Muqtada you understand what,
who the muiqtadi?
When Imam leads the prayers,
all you people are muqtadi.
Muqtadi means to imitate.
What the Imam does is,
you do the same.
Similarly the guidance are laid down,
spread out with all the prophets,
and itís spread out
and you have to
imitate all of them.
Not one, all of them.
Arabic
I do not say,
I do not question
you or ask you
of any reward over it.
It is not except
the remembrance for the worlds.
So now we have come to know,
first was the Book,
a guidance and then
come the prophets.
Because all these prophets
got the book and
they follow the book and what ever the events and narations
are mantion about the prophets
we have to take
guidance from them.
You have to imitate their guidance.
Now further in Surah
Al Isra, 17: 9,
Which Quraían is a guidance?
It says, surely this Quraían
.Arabic
He guides
Arabic
more straight.
Which Quraían we are talking about?
Sorry? Yeah Zalekal kitab all right.
But what youíre hearing is also,
Iím reading ayats.
And when I read that
all the prophets
got the Book, itís Quraían.
It is more straight.
What you know from
before is not Quraían.
You must understand
when you say
Arabic
This Quraían that I am reading,
I read these ayats
in front of you,
this Quraían, the reading
youíre hearing
Arabic
That is more straight.
What youíre hearing,
the Quraíanic ayahs,
right now is the Quraían
I am talking.
Quraían lying in the house is not,
just lying in the book form.
No, when you read.
I am reading for you. .
You people are verifying.
And once you have verified,
the 18 prophets on one,
mentioned with one Book,
this becomes a Quraían
and if you deny this,
what youíve been hearing
from your childhood
if you believe that,
then itís not a guidance for you.
Thatís what it say
Arabic
This Quraían you read
Arabic
That is more straight.
Arabic
And give good news
who believe this. Believes what?
What you are hearing, the reading.
What you are reading,
what you are hearing
the reading of the ayats.
Arabic
Then they correct
their works or deeds,
what they have been
reading before or hearing
from somewhere, not verifying it.
So they have to correct.
Arabic
And surely for them
is a great reward
if you do so,
if you want to take guidance.
