All right, now what would movie night be without popcorn? It wouldn't be movie night. However,
tonight we're not going to pop it in the microwave, we're going to do it on stove-top. And it's
so easy to do. What you want to do is take your popcorn just so that it covers the bottom
of the pan. Then, on top of that--might need a little bit more--just regular canola oil,
again just to cover your kernels. Turn it on medium-high, put the lid on, and just wait
until it starts popping. Now the great thing about these glass lids is you can tell when
your popcorn is done popping visually, but if you don't have a clear lid, you can tell
your popcorn is done because it's been a few seconds since your last kernel popped. So
I haven't heard this pop for a couple seconds, so it must be done. And there we go. Not one
kernel burnt, and you've got beautiful popcorn. If we were going to have this just as salty
popcorn, I would add the salt right away so that it sort of melts into the popcorn. If
you wanted to, you could even toss with some parmesan cheese for a very, sort of, adult
popcorn variation. So I'm going to make one more batch of this so we can make our caramel
popcorn.
