Welcome to my Minecraft, uh, showing off of my secret door. Here, we have the world outside
in my Painterly texture pack. Ignore the grey vines; that's a biome thing that apparently
isn't working. And here's my secret door. This is far more complicated than it looks.
Um, I know some people for whom redstone like this is something they could do in their sleep,
but it's not for me. Um, I, okay. Yeah, um, didn't quite make it into the utility room,
but I have another way. A door maintenance room. So, here's- what we've got here, got
a lock there, and, uh, all this redstone, and a troubleshooting switch. Um, I'll show
you off, I'll show you the lock. But, um, the interesting thing about this place---yeah,
locks are easy, you just put an extra switch on that holds, holds it high. Uh.
So, yeah, the, uh.
This room, with all the redstone, this is just to lead to the uh pistons. See, works
now. Unlocked. Uh, down.
Down here is where the magic, uh, happens. Uh, this is a line down from the switch. Goes
straight to, also, the reset through a delay. Um, this way I don't have to, you know, turn
it on and off, I can just press it and it'll turn on, turn itself on, and then wait, and
then turn itself off. This is the input to a sequencer. Sequencers are a little annoying
in Minecraft. Uh, you need to have a memory cell to hold it high or low. It'll turn on
A, then B. Here's A, goes straight to the pistons. B goes to another sequencer. And
then, it will turn off B, and then A. Uh, this just, let me show you the, uh, delay.
We've got a bunch of these things, uh, it adds up to fifty-six ticks, and at the end
I have some more to make up for the ones that follow that, that keep on going down that
branch. This is the reset, it goes to the memory cell to hold it low afterwards. And
it also goes straight to B, and also to, ah, it goes around, you can see, all the way to
A. Um.
But, yeah, let me just take you all the way down. Down to sequencer two. Um, there's the
output A coming [laugh] up in the middle. Here we go, input, uh, goes to memory cell,
and to A, just like in the other one. Out to B. And, uh, yeah, A is---got stuck there---A
is a fun one. You can see it kinda comes up in the middle of the floor. Uh, that's because
I, uh, well, it's hard to make all of these lines get to the right place. This is where
it goes up.
But, yeah, it does eventually- and, yeah, you can see it passes by B. It does eventually
lead back. Uh, all these go through inverters. I suppose I could have just reversed the set
and reset, but, uh, I was working from a schematic for the sequencer, and once I'd built that
it was easier just to leave it as it was because I'd built the door- I built it all with one
set of sequencers first. This is one of the first ones to go off, Sequencer 1 to output
A, there's the line. And, uh, a little hard to move around in here. Give me a second.
Yes, I have, uh, Single-Player Commands enabled, but I haven't actually used it for much in
this game. It's just easier to show you this way. Uh, and thank you, Notch, for implementing
fly in creative. So, that's one of the last ones to g- a b*** to navigate like this. That's
one of the last ones to go off, Sequencer 2 output B. These are some of the first, 1A.
And, uh.
Here's the, um, uh, there we go. 2A, that was one of the middle ones. I, okay, flying
off now. Uh, let's show you again from the outside, and you can hopefully see how there's
three separate sets. The middle pulls back, then the top middle pulls up, and the bottom
middle pulls back again. And the bottom just stays. I do want to mention, um, an amusing
little thing. I found out right after I finished making this about the, uh, the Redpower mod.
Um, almost makes me wish I had it. It enables, uh, gates and latches with a single square.
[laugh]
But, I'm trying not to cheat, so- This was fun to make. I know that other people make
much cooler things in redstone, but this was my little thing that I managed to figure out
how to do mostly on my own. Uh, hope you enjoyed it, and thanks for watching!
