Hi, how are you? I’m Pilar. I study journalism here in Vienna and today I’m here to show you my perfect day in this wonderful city, here in Gloriette, in Schönbrunn Park. Look at these wonderful views, you can really feel like you’re having breakfast with Sisi together. You feel like a princess here. Let’s have this wonderful breakfast.
Now that we took energies, let’s go to visit one of the hotspots in Vienna, in the middle of the city, MuseumsQuartier. But first, let’s go to have a walk through these wonderful gardens here in Schönbrunn.
Did you know we have here one of the oldest zoos in the world? You can go with your kids, with your friends, with your family, it’s really nice.
You know, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra has a really special night here in Schönbrunn. Every summer, they come here to play for free.
Here we go at one of the imperial palaces in Vienna, this is the summer one, where the royal family came here to spend their summer. So, take a look at this, it’s the Gloriette where we just had breakfast.
This is also a really good place to make sport, you can see a lot of people jogging, running…
Behind me, in the main building, you will find the Café Residenz, a place where they show you how to make a very typical Viennese apple strudel. But now, let’s go to take the U-Bahn, the U4 line, up to Karlsplatz. Come with me.
We’re right now in the Musikvereinsplatz where we can clearly see how Vienna is a city of contrasts. Behind me, we have the Musikverein, where the Wiener Philharmoniker comes to play the best classical concerts, and if I turn around, we have the Brut, one of the best underground clubs in the city and personally one of my favorites. Now, let’s go, I will show you MuseumsQuartier.
Here behind me we have the Burgkino, a famous indie cinema here in Vienna, where you can come to see movies in original version. A really cool fact about this cinema is that they are screening right now Der Dritte Mann, a real famous movie by Orsen Wells, who was actually shooted here in Vienna.
So, here we are in MuseumsQuartier. This is the place to be in summer. You can chill out, you can meet your friends, you can have a drink and of course you can visit the nice museums we have here. For instance the Leopoldmuseum over there and behind your back the mumok, the museum of modern art. Now let’s go chill out a little bit.
So, we’re laying right now in one of the famous Enzos. Every summer they change them and the people get to choose the color on the internet. This year’s favorite was this exact blue. And now that we’ve rested here a little bit, let’s go for some action, we’re going to Prater. Let’s take the U-Bahn there.
We’re in the Prater right now, one of the oldest amusement parks in the world. Behind my back you can see the world-famous Riesenrad. Now let’s go have some fun inside. I don’t wanna do this!
That was great, that was great!
Wow, that was really funny. Now I’m hungry, let’s go eat something…. This restaurant here is called Schweizerhaus and they are famous for their delicious Schweinsstelzen [pig’s feet]. Let’s go inside.
Right now we are in the very famous Schweizerhaus in Prater… Thank you!
There we go. Enjoy your meal.
Thanks. This smells really, really good.
Delicious!... Wow, that was really good. Now come with me, because I’m going to show you a really special spot in Vienna. We’re going to the Donauturm, the highest place in Vienna, we’re going to have the best views of the city.
Here we are at the bottom of Donauturm, the highest building in Vienna. Now let’s go up and have an amazing view, come with me.
Take a look at where we are right now, this is the very top of Vienna, we’re in the Donauturm café. The coolest thing about place is that it turns around so in 26 minutes you can have a wonderful panoramic view all over Vienna. Now, we are going to finish our coffee, rest a little bit and then we will end our perfect day in Alte Donau where we will ride a boat.
Right now, we are in the Alte Donau, this is the last port of my perfect day. I hope you enjoyed it like me. Now to make this perfect day end, we’re going to ride a boat. Come with me.
It was a pleasure having you here with me. I hope I see you next time. Goodbye and Auf Wiedersehen!
