Daft Punk , the daft punks (here, the journalist translates daft punk in french)
the new techno stars of England are from France and bring the house down.
Signed on a small Scottish independent label
their first singles were applauded by the critics round the world
qualified as "new wave of the new wave" by an English press overstrung.
Attention to the Parisian duo emblematic of the "underground" techno
at the time of the globalization.
- We have received faxes
from Denmark, from Sweden, from Spain, from Japan, from New-York City
whereas we sold 15,000 discs !
So it is very funny but also really shows that at the same time there is a public ,
there are people who are interested in this music everywhere
and we can reach - by making things in our bedroom - reach people to the other end of the Earth.
Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter hardly 40 years to them two
make music together since they were 15 years old.
They compose and produce their music in a studio set in their bedroom
in the great tradition of the "Techno-House" small geniuses.
Attracted by the persistence of the English rumors,
the French majors woo them for several months
with the chequebook in the hand.
The Daft Punk do not yield for the moment determined to dictate their rules and to keep the control.
- Now , we arrive at a period where music industries are open to all , everybody has to engage in there
because we have been too accustomed to having ...
- Some barriers !
- *** products wich break our balls but not for long !
The Daft Punk production's is rich and complex
divided between remixes and pieces made under various pen name
to better confuse the tracks,
a music from "cool" almost "jazzy",
funky house and violent techno,
to the limit of brainwashing.
Their lives are deemed for their maddening force which could you merge with a beam.
Thomas Bangalter has just launched "Roulé" his own mini-label,
small circulation but international distribution.
Attention the young French wolves of the Techno are redoubtable.
- From the moment when we had a small home studio, well ...
The first disc it is me who did it
so I recorded the songs in my studio, in our studio,
then i burnt them in London in good studios of CDs engraving,
I printed flyers in France and I sell them to distributors in France
which send them to foreign distributors then they send to others distributors
and finally we can find discs in the whole world.
Get ready for the impending wave of the irresistible Daft Punk's "groove".
If they stay independant forever this new "punks" will be probably less daft than their predecessors.
