Two years ago the School of Social Work created the Michèle Kérisit scholarship. Michèle
Kérisit was an important colleague within the school. Her research touched unique questions
in regards to French minority, immigrant women, refugee women's rights, women survivors of
armed conflict, reunions, sponsorship and all issues that touch the rights of women
immigrants. Because of this research Michèle discovered that women, immigrant women with
children, who wanted to pursue graduate studies, masters or PhDs, in social work, faced challenges.
This is the reason the scholarship is in her name, to honor Michèle as well as her work,
and to allow students who are living difficult situations to complete their studies. I strongly
encourage you to contribute to the Michèle Kérisit scholarship to assist students who
wish to complete university research in social work. A world of ideas, to change the world.
