Most women who are condering a buttock augmentation, also known as a brazilian buttock lift, want
to reshape their entire buttock, waist, lower back, and hip area.
They don't necessarily just want a larger buttock.
The best way to perform this is by way of a fat transfer.
This involves liposuction of fat from unwanted areas such as the abdomen, love handles, and
lower back.
Then the fat is strained and processed for re-injection into the desired areas, primarily
the buttock and hip area which gives an overall aesthetically appealing shape to the buttocks.
It's this redistribution of fat that can transform a square shaped or flat appearing buttocks
into a fuller, rounder shape.
A good candidate for this procedure should be in good health, and have a little extra
fat on their body in order to have a successful result.
Patients who are very thin are not good candidates for this procedure.
The procedure takes between two and three hours and is done under general anesthesia
with patients going home the same day.
Patients are given a spandex garment to wear on their lower body for about four weeks.
Most patients will take about one to two weeks off work.
It is very important after the surgery to avoid direct sitting on the buttocks during
the first two weeks as the fat cells are very fragile during this time period.
Most of the obvious swelling resolves in about three months.
By about the six month mark, whatever fat remains is felt to be permanent.
