Hey unboxer! This is Sakis Karpas from GameOver.gr in another episode of Unboxholics!
Today we will take a look at the L Series of LG. In front of me, I have 3 smartphones.
1. LG Optimus L3 II
2. LG Optimus L5 II
3. LG Optimus L7 II
Since we have already unboxed LG Optimus L3 II, we'll focus on L5 and L7.
The design of the two retail packages is identical as you can see.
Let's see what's inside:
1. A USB Cable
2. An AC Adapter
3. A set of earphones
4. Manuals
Let's cut to the chase!
Both smartphones share a thrifty and beatiful design.
L7's back side has a grained feeling to it which I personally dislike, as I have said in previous videos.
Unlike the L7, L5 has a plastic back side.
Otherwise, the two smartphones are quite identical.
On the front side, we find a screen sensor, a call speaker and a VGA camera on L7.
On the bottom front side, we find the home button and two touch screen buttons.
As usual, a microphone and a USB port can be found on the bottom side of the two smartphones.
A volume slider button as well as a camera button are located on the left side of the two smartphones.
A 3.5mm headphones jack on top and a power button on the right side...
...while a camera (L5 - 5MP, L7 - 8MP), a LED flash and a speaker are located on the back side.
A battery, an SD card slot and a SIM card slot are revealed as soon as we take off the back cover.
L5's battery reaches the number of 1700mAh while L7's is at 2460mAh.
Let's take a look at the dimensions of the two smartphones.
Screen: 4 inches
Height: 117,5mm
Width: 62,2mm
Thickness: 9,2mm
Weight: 103,3g
L7's Screen: 4,3 inches
Height: 121,5mm
Width: 66,6mm
Thickness: 9,7mm
Weight: 118g
It's time to take a look at the specs of each phone.
Both smartphones ship with Android 4.1.2 version.
Although L7 is technically better, we didn't notice any huge difference in terms of performance due to Android's smooth overall experience.
Also, we were quite satisfied by each phone's screen.
Our only complaint is that L7's screen is not that sharp when compared to L5.
L7 II outsmarts L5 II when it comes to pictures but in good light conditions both smartphones do extremely well.
LG Optimus L5 and L7 starting price is between €150 and 200.
LG Optimus L5 and L7 are perfect for users that are not interested investing a lot of money in a smartphone.
If you could choose one of these two, what would it be? Tell us in the comments section.
