This tutorial will explain how to use eNovativePiano's interactive studio management features.
eNovativePiano's studio management features create a simple way for you to make assignments.
Your students will be able to log their practice time as well as submit their logs for specific
assignments. Our 'message boards' will allow groups of students to create and respond to
discussion topics. You will also be able to communicate with your students through private
messaging. To begin using these features, you must first
create your studio roster. On the main navigation bar, Select 'classes'
You must select "create new class" for each student in your studio.
Use the student's name as the course title. You should also enter your studio name. You
do not need to complete all the fields. You will now see the student's name, and a
"Join Code" associated with that student. The student will use this join code to join
your studio roster after they have subscribed. So far, I have added three students to my
studio roster. You may also create a grouping of students
whom you wish to receive the same assignments or to work together on projects. In this example,
I have created a Summer Improvisation Class. Any students to whom I give the join code
for this class will be added to the Improv Class roster.
In this section, you will learn how your students join your studio roster. Remember, each student
must be subscribed to eNovativePiano before they can join your roster.
When a student subscriber logs in, they should select "Classes" from the main navigation
bar. . . and enter the join code you provided to them.
At this point, they are awaiting your approval to join your studio roster.
You must approve each student's request to join a studio.
To do this, select "classes" from the main navigation bar. Now, select "details" for
the appropriate student.
As you can see, this student is awaiting approval. Select "Approve" to allow this student to
join your roster. When you have done this, the student will have access to the assignments
and messages that you create for him or her. Now, let's learn how to add assignments and
correspond with the members of your studio. In eNovativePiano, it is easy to make assignments.
To create an assignment for a student or a group of students, simply navigate to the
webpage that you wish to assign and select 'create assignment."
A pop up window will open allowing you to select the appropriate student or class . . .
and to fill in fields for the appropriate dates, and comments. After saving, each assignment
will appear in the both yours and the student's 'Workbooks.'
The assignments you created can be viewed and edited in the Workbook.
Workbooks are accessed from the main navigation bar.
You will see the Workbooks for each of your students and classes. Select the Workbook
that you wish to view. Here you will see all the assignments that
you have made for this student. Upcoming assignments appear in bold style font with older assignments
appearing in normal font.
You have the option of editing assignments as needed:
When you lock an assignment, is it no longer available for students to submit their practice
log for assignment. Locking is useful if you have given a student a deadline for completing
and logging time on a specific assignment. When you hide an assignment, it is removed
from the student's Workbook, but it will still be visible in the teacher's Workbook.
You may delete assignments at any time. Edit/View assignment allows you to make changes
to the assignment. In edit/view assignments, you can also view
student submissions of their practice log for that assignment.
Selecting the student's name will take you directly to their workbook.
where you can view all their assignments and their entire practice log.
Selecting the + or -- on the side of the page will expand or collapse a section.
The assignments for this student have been collapsed. Select + to expand.
When students select "workbook" from the main navigation bar, they will be able to see the
due date, the title, any teacher instructions, the type of assignment that was made, and
when it was assigned. When an assignment title is selected, they
will be taken directly to the web page containing that assignment.
eNovativePiano allows your students to log practice time and submit their logs to the
teacher. By selecting the "log time" button that appears
on each page, students can keep track of their progress in their Workbook.
When selecting the 'log time' button, a pop up window will open allowing students to enter
their practice time, add to either a class or a personal practice
log, or submit the practice time to the teacher
as part of an assignment. You can view a student's practice log by selecting
"classes" from the main navigation bar, then by selecting "details" for the course
you wish to view. Selecting the student's name will take you
to their workbook . . . where you can view their practice log.
eNovativePiano has message board and email capabilities which can be accessed from several
locations. When a user logs in, new message board or private correspondence will be visible.
Students will also see if they have any new class assignments.
Students can select and access their messages and assignments from the welcome page.
The message board can also be accessed from the main navigation bar.
Message boards are the most useful when you have grouped students together in a class.
In this Improv Group, these users have begun a discussion about how to improvise.
Private messages may be sent between the users in a group or between the teacher and anyone
on the studio roster. Select "view/send private message."
Private messages can also be accessed from the "inbox" found at the top of the page.
