Well Bobby, September 18th is the last day to withdraw from the university and get a 70% credit or refund
any student needing to do that should the registars office at 298-1891 or by email at r-office@wiu.edu.
Lets hope to many people don't have to do that.

for couples of thinking of tying the knot, there is going to be a Macomb area bridal expo on the 18th
in the university union grand ball room from 1-5 PM. Area businesses can provide you with information
and availability's for booking. Wedding services like catering, photography, lights, and music will be
covered. They're calling it the "one stop shop for wedding planners". It's free to attend and prizes

That night on the 18th there will be WIU faculty music recital in the COFAC facility at 7:30. Randal Frost and
Jeffery Brown will be Joined by Scott Conckland from the University of Iowa. For more information contact

On September 19th the Fighting Leathernecks will face the Oakland Golden Grizzlies in volleyball action
in Brophy Hall at 7 PM.
That sounds like a good one they're doing pretty well this year.
Yeah i've heard they've aced a few teams.
The Western walkathon will be held september 20th from 7-4 on Hanson field. This exercise activity is
cosponsored by Hyvee which will supply healthy snacks for the walkers. The walk is being staged to raise
money for the samaritan will a charity for men, women and children. Also on september 20th the Western
orginization for women will have its 40th anniversary fall reception in the Sandberg lounge of the university
union from 3:30-5:30. Memory's will be shared, refreshments will be served, and plans will be made for
the future of the orginization. you can be a WOW member for only 40 cents in honor of the group's 40th
anniversary.
i've got about 4 bucks in my pocket, that can get about ten people in
hope that includes me.
Another WIU Faculty music recital is scheduled for September 20th at the COFAC hall. The compositons
of James Romag will be presented. Faculty musicians include Eric Ginsberg, Rick Coraz, and Julieta mihi from
Western along with guest startus Jeremy Brunk from Millikan, Ashley Mack from Knocks, Tony Oliver from
Augistana, and John McMurray from the New York City Opera. For more information call Joney Herbert at

Do you have a talent you would like to show off? The University Union board will be hosting an open mic
night on Wednesday September 21st in the multi cultural center. The stage will be open at 7 PM. Just
show up and sign up. Professional light and sound set up will be provided and refreshments will be served.

On Thursday September 22nd the department of history will show the film documentary, Fatal Promises at
6 PM in the Union Sandberg Theater. This will be followed by guest speakers who will address the subject
of human trafficking, and the modern slave trade. The films director Katt roarr, and Gene Gross a local
activist against human trafficking will talk about starting a new student orginization to fight against

TG its Friday on September 23rd and WIU celebrates founders day and presents the inauguration of president
Jack Thomas. The ceremony will begin at 11:30 in Western Hall. Its the 18th annual founders day celebration
honoring the opening of the school in 1902 and Doctor Thomas will be recognized as the 11th president

It's a purple out homecoming kickoff on Friday September 23rd as the Leatherneck Volleyball team hosts
the Southern Utah Thunderbirds in Brophy hall at 7 PM. Cover your self in purple and cheer on the team
at this special event.
