colorado state senator Vicky marble she is a republican although I'm sure you'd
be able to gather that from the club I'm about to play
she has a new idea I don't wanna call it a theory because people might
me a understandably think I'm I'm using the term theory
in the scientific sense and I wouldn't be she has a a dim-witted idea
that black people or poor because they
eat too much chicken she can explain it
way better than I can so I'm gonna play for you the audio from a meeting
above with the senator may keep Vicky marble from Colorado State Senate listen
to this
are know when you look at my pics that in be there certain
on there are problems in a black grey
and sickle cell anemia in something that comes up
army diabetes here and
something that's prevalent and the genetic makeup and you just can't help
it
and here we go although I kinda K
and I'm never had at better
barbecue and better chicken-and-egg a better in my ride:
and when you go down found 10 you I mean I'm love it
and everybody loves it and the mexican diet
and in mexico where I love the fresh vegetables and you go down there and
they're much
dinner then they are appear they change their diet okay
so putting aside the obvious racial undertones of what she saying
we just talked last month Louis about a study from the UN Food and Agriculture
Organization which found that obesity rates have actually
in Mexico now eclipsed American obesity rates so she's factually wrong
about in mexico everybody so thin number one
number two I think she was just bringing up mexicans to try to make a cover
kinda make a cover that she's not only talking about black people to try to
appear
less racially focused but she said that she said in a statement that
my comments were not made to be disparaging to any community
I'm saddened they were taken in that regard well
its kinda because she's talking about how black people
are poor because they eat a lot of chicken
this is completely backwards in the sense that if we want to take a seat
let's let's consider for second that Vicki marble
is not an idiot okay and that she's actually
she wants to have a nuance conversation about this I'm
finding is somewhat mind-boggling that she thinks that
um having a bad diet causes poverty which is what she saying black people
are poor because they have bad diets
people have bad diets because they're poor and the fact that even
putting aside the racial nonsense she doesn't understand that simple concept
I'm
curious as to how she even managed to get himself elected yeah
doesn't speak well to Colorado why I think maybe someone to just educator and
then she can take
some other comments and put them in a context love maybe combating
food deserts as we refer to them yeah I would love to hear her thoughts on
institutional racism
and food desert I think should be a brilliant speaker on that topic let's
take a break plenty more after this including your voicemails
