This is Nigel Gregory with Blue Griffin Handyman. Today we're going to show you how to reload
a caulk gun. Now there are different types of caulk guns out there. I brought two different
types and these days they even have one out now that is electric and does it automatically
but this is a standard caulk gun and it has various teeth along here that catch in the
chamber in here that are spring loaded with this trigger and so in order to load this
gun you want to make sure that these teeth are facing up so that you can easily pull
it back. Then you take the caulk tube and you place it this end first in there and snap
and it falls right into place. Then you turn this so that the teeth are in the bottom and
you push it in all the way and then you tighten it with the trigger and it will pull this
plunger through the tube. Now with this other model here it doesn't have teeth on it. It
uses the angle of the rod and the spring action on this level here so on this model what you
need to do is hold it with one hand and put your thumb on the lever and press down. Then
you lift the bar up until it is all the way at the back. Again you put it this end first
inside the gun and you drop it into place and with this one you don't have to press
the trigger you can just push the rod and the plunger through there and then tighten
it up with the handle and it should come out just fine. That's how to use and to reload
a caulk gun. Thanks.
