Hello and welcome to Game Calibur, and what better a game to kick things off with than
Iron Maiden's Ed Hunter. Now, before going into the game I just want
to talk a little bit about the sort of videos you'll see on this channel.
Game Calibur is a brand new YouTube channel, it's focusing mainly on gameplay, game reviews,
multiplayer gaming and anything gaming related. I originally... SHINKUUUU HADOOUUUKEN!...
ahem,um...yeh, anyway, where was I? Right. Press 'Start' button, well, there is
no start button on a keyboard, but 'Enter' will do.
Just gonna go have a lil' look at the options...uhmmm huh? oh no I'm just being a spaz (!) It's
in the middle ofcourse... 'Act Labs Light Gun' - hmmm wonder what that
is. Uhm, set the difficulty, I think normal will
be fine. You can change the music, it looks like.
Anyway, let's get out of that. Now, uh, what was I saying before?
Oh yes, so Game Calibur started off as a place where I wanted to upload and review multiplayer
games that me and friends had played. So we could see where to improve our gameplay
styles. Also as a means of keeping hold of those epic battles and hilarious moments which
I always wish I has recorded. Now, what is Ed Hunter? Ed Hunter is a game
commissioned by Iron Maiden, a 1999 release, came bundled with Iron Maiden's album of the
same name, a kind of 'best-of' album if you will.
I've had this game for a fair while, but haven't really played it 'til now, thought I should
record it, see if anyone else was in a similar curious state of mind, basically ask the question,
should you play it? Should everyone play it? Let's find out shall we?
Right. Let's go, let's do this! Just going down to the Cart & Horses for a
pint! Oh, some dodgey looking fellows, better take
care of them! Haha, just minding their own business and
I come along and start shooting at them, so they start throwing bottles at me...
And yes folks! That is instant custard, from BetraSet, and it is on sale so hurry on down
there. Right well, it's a point and click shooter,
they're usually quite fun but they tend to get quite boring after a while, so a bit anxious
about that. Appears I'm able to choose my route or destination
- it has gotta be the London Undergroung, hasn't it? That is where all the action is.
Going around London town, old London town, shooting up some punks.
Teach them a lesson - go listen to Iron Maiden - stop listening to your Sex Pistols and Ramones,
with your silly hair and denim jackets... Oh wait... Iron Maiden fans wear those too...ermm
anyway. Oh I am good, I am great, fear me skin-head
punks. Pew-Pew, you dead, you deeeaaad, you dead,
you dead in the head. To be honest I can see this turning into a
bit of a highlights reel. I can't imagine it being fun to watch - kind
of getting a bit boring to play already. But I'll keep going, for the greater good,
for the good of curious gamers everywhere who really wanted to know -
what Iron Maiden's attempt at a, and I quote, "realistic 3D game" was gonna turn out like.
Onwards! *** shot! T-t-t-triple *** shot! Ultra co-
oh maybe not... maybe not ultra ***. Is that a reference to Charlotte the Harlot
out of 22 Acacia Avenue? What the ffffff- he just threw a bloody axe
at me! You know, bottles and bricks I can handle... this game just stepped up a notch.
Yeh, I thought so, 22 Acacia Avenue, 22 scrawled on the bins there, there's a sexy looking
silhouette... Hahaaa! Hahaha! I'm unstoppable! Yes! Oh...
Oh my, my, what is going on here? There's a funny looking fellow... AH!
Some kind of Insane Asylum, Wrathchild playing in the background, like a bit of Wrathchild,
good bass-line. Crazies! Shoot the crazies! What the fff-
he just threw a bear at me! And another one! Oh my God!
I can't get him, this is it, death by teddy bear, it's over. Game over man... game over!
Welcome to hell! (Demon Voice)
