Soldiers and civilians at Fort Lewis rally for life.
A crowd of hundreds carried signs of encouragement
to foster suicide awareness as part of the 4th Annual Walk for Life.
Our walk today shows a visual sign that each person carrying one of these signs is saying,
"You can talk to me about suicide."
"I care, so you can talk to me. Please don't keep it to yourself."
It's not a sign of weakness to admit that you're overwhelmed with life issues.
If you have thoughts of suicide, I would hope that you're talking with someone.
The Army is promoting programs focused on suicide prevention and awareness.
Senior leaders hope more soldiers will come forward and seek help.
