Canon-user have long been waiting for the new generation 24-70 mm lens
It's finally here, i have the honour to try it out
It's brand new, but already feels smooth like the first generation
That's a good sign
This one was produced for dslrs with 8MP sensors
So it was time for a new lens, and this is it.
First thing I notice is the lens hood It is a lot smaller
With the old 24-70 the lens hood stayed in place when zooming in and out
They've changed that. When you zoom with the new 24-70 the lens hood moves as well
There's a difference in size between the two generation lenses as well
The weight is also different, this one is clearly lighter
Canon says this lens can make sharper images
We'll have to try this out
Photographers hoped for an image stabilizer in the unit
Unforntunately there is none. It is unclear why Canon did this
Slightly disappointing, Canon could've made a lot of wishes come true
Personally I consider this a drawback, I'm eager to find out if this 24-70mm is really better than the previous version
