Hi, my name is David with Expert Village and I’m going to show you how to adjust glasses.
Now I’m going to show you how to restring a semi-rimless frame. Sometimes the glasses
have been either stepped on or sat on causing the lenses to slip out. If this is the case,
locate a piece of eight pound fishing wire, in order to restring your semi-rimless frames
pick up the glasses like so. You will notice that your semi-rimless frame has a groove
all along the edge of the lens. Along the inside of the frame, there is a little piece
of string that is connected to the frame itself. You want to take your frame, take your lens
and make sure that the strings lines up with the inside of the groove on the top piece,
top portion of your frame. This will leave the bottom portion of the string, of the frame
on top of the lens itself. Take a piece of fishing string or dental floss, insert it
into the frame between the frame and the string as such, grab both sides of the string firmly
like so and you want to guide the frame’s wire itself into the groove around the lens
as such until it pops in. And you want to make sure that the frame is sitting flush
around the lens and the adjustments that are necessary can be made by applying pressure
in the necessary spots until the lens is clearly flush. In order to remove the string, grip
the frame as so, grab one piece of the string or dental floss and pull out like such. You
have now replaced the lens in a semi-rimless frame.
