"War, war never changes", some say
war is a matter as old as mankind itself
Yes, war has definitely changed the world
has changed the humanity
war redefines fear
War is a competition, a technological one
a diplomatic one, a social one
a political and ideological one
Oh yeah, of course the war has changed the world
But what happens when war
seems to be a business not only for humans?
What happens when the war
awakes the wrath of the gods?
What happens when we evoke
entities we do not understand?
What happens when war
involves technology we don't imagine?
What happens when we awake
the inner demons of anger and destruction?
What happens when we desire
to see blood spilled?
When the great war exploded, the world finally
saw the horrors of a new and terrible kind of war
Tanks, mass artillery, chemical warfare, trenches...
and was in the same trenches of Turkey
something happened that astonished everybody
A regiment of British support, the Norfolk Regiment
landed to support the Allies in the Russian front
on August 12, while trying to take
a river under Turkish control
a dense cloud of dust came down from the sky
and completely covered the regiment of 267 soldiers
After 15 minutes, the cloud of dust
goes up, again to sky
showing that the entire regiment
had disappeared
leaving no trace of bodies
the Norfolk regiment simply vanished
from this world along with that cloud
Longinus, the Holy Lance
the same that pierced the side of Christ
and along with other biblical relics
has gone from carrier to carrier
disappearing and appearing through eras
though replicas emerged, that claimed to be the original
the Habsburg's spear seems to be the original
Characters like Charlemagne or Barbarossa
had in their hands this spear
which propelled their military victories
"The one who has the spear, multiply ten times its military power"
that's the legend. In the last century
Hitler knew very well this legend
even more, he was obsessed with the spear
And the day he proclaimed austria as part
of the territory of the Third Reich, Hitler, along
with a SS garrison, stormed the Hapsburg palace
and took possession of the spear
With this action, Hitler began his invasions
and this was the guilty spark of the WWII
Hitler sent the spear, along with other relics
to a safe secret place in a bunker
But in 1944, American forces discovered
the bunker in the ruins that
were left behind by explosions
they took over the bunker recovering the relic
That same day, Hitler opted for suicide
This will represent the fall of the third Reich
The Nazi concentration camps and the Russian gulags
are two synonyms of hell on earth
However, in the chaos of World War II
in China the Japanese Empire, creates a facility
for scientific investigation. Shiro Ishii was the
head of the facilities and researches
that were perpetrated there
The task of the unit 731 was simple and macabre
with the prisoners of war and civilians captured
they experimented with humans
to see the human reaction and limits
to certain situations
"All in progress of science"
some of their researches were:
Vivisection without anesthesia
Removal of vital organs
Weapons testing
Toxins and chemical testing
Amputation of the limbs to analyze the blood loss
Analysis of effects of countless diseases
those are some examples of thousands of tests
It is estimated a total of 200'000 victims
including the aged, children
babies, men and women
However, unit 731 brought a wealth
of useful information to medicine and
modern anatomy, today that knowledge
saves lives. Reason for which
Shiro Ishii was not convicted for war crimes
After the end of World War II, the world
was split into two, East and West
This marked the beginning of the era known
as the Cold War
The capitalists had the CIA
and the Soviets had the KGB
though these two colossus were sending
threats and creating tensions betwen them
they always had hidden projects
with which they were looking for
supremacy over the other
One of the darkest projects was known
as MK-ULTRA
a program created by the CIA for
research of mind control over people
MK-ULTRA experimented with
lonely veterans of war, prisoners and homeless
people that no one would miss
After many sessions of LSD
psychological torture
physical torture
inhuman tests
isolation and malnutrition
many subjects reached madness
they had hallucinations and they said
they were hearing voices
voices whispering them terrible things
in their dreams they saw
horrendous things and finally
they began to mix reality with their nightmares
The project was canceled, abandoned and classified
but the test subjects ended up
totally mad
many of them committed suicide
Some think that the most powerful weapon
is the one you should never use
others say that is the one that is used only once
and others believe that fear is
the most powerful weapon
Well, there is a weapon with all of the three together
without distinction, kills innocent masses
spreads like the night, you can not fight against it
has no form, and has no limitations
The perfect genocidal weapon
Chemical warfare, was feared since ancient times
and today it's a latent threat
Many fear the nuclear threat, but we
must not forget how fear is also small and deadly
As fire it can consume all nations
Small Virus. Deadly toxins or gases that alter your mind
Tabun, sarin , Phosgene
Cyanide, Agent Orange, Anthrax
are some of their names
but all seek the same goal:
Annihilation
Many believe that if one day, mankind
annihilates itself, it'll not be with
nuclear weapons, but it will be with a simple spore
spreading, and above everything
it will play the song that ends all
War, war has changed
fear, humanity, the end
everything has changed
mankind owe to the war the greatest
scientific and technological advances
but we also owe the most real and worst nightmares
But until the day the last man kills
the last man before him
we'll know it was too late
War is a race whose goal
is destruction
If fear has a face
that must face be war
I just want to say
War
What Is It Good For?
