what about when you were first, erm, you know
when you were first getting to that stage where you were the one in the
spotlight and it was your first time on stage
can you think of a... like anything that you did I mean would you
like
try to sit and focus or breathe or try to clear your head..
Ohh, mang, I was sweating, and my palms
like, I'm just shaking, erm
every time I tried to do a combo, and its clutch time, my hands are just shaking..
the buttons.. is just crazy, you know. One thing I saw you
when you're..erm.. fighting Justin..erm
every round that you know you have to close out, you close your eyes
and you go hold this stick and start mashing like this just concentrate you know
Thats how I would do it
Yeah and just like, hey you know you gotta... but.. but lately
I start to you learn how to tell my mind..
"hey, you gotta do this now, alright, hey..erm.. stop being nervous but that aside,
we'll be nervous later"
I start to develop how to communicate with my
emotions in my mind more. So now when I go to Majors, I don't get nervous
anymore. well at least as much but EVO I still get nervous
but only not that much because my third year at least for EVO
top 8, so I don't get as nervous. but it's something that you definitely learn
through experience. you know. (Nice)
or, the way I train for that too is that the way my house was set up
was house I have the chat..
The FGTV chat on a projector
so I get to read all their criticism. All the dropped combos
if I lose a game, I'm free supposedly.. even if you win a 200 straight games you
lose one gama through CJ,
you're free. But I take that as criticism
You know? but it's good because I know I'm aware that
you know that's something that they can criticise which is good, and I know that people
are watching
so I can't make a lot of bad decisions, so that helps the also
so I can always tell my brain okay this is the same feel you gonna....
that you gonna feel if theres like three hundred thousand people watching you on
stream at EVO its gonna be the same
you know so also when I do my casual session I try to play sets like three
out of five sets
Tournament setting. so even though let's say its only me in CJ playing,
we're constantly doing three out of five sets. And after that restart the game and do it again
so I'll keep always practice the feeling "what if I'm down 2-0
I need to close out the set!" so I get to replicate or mimic that feeling
that I have because I did not want to lose a set with CJ. because that means if i lose to CJ 3/5
even though I've beaten him 99 sets that means there's
there will be one tournament that he's gonna beat me and I dont know whens that tournament
that could be EVO set
so you have to be.. so that the house me to practice my consistency
oh yeah, we do have we do play casuals yeah but there's times that you are
"We're gonna play sets? yeah lets play sets"
you know, but yeah. that helps you practice
my whole metagame, how to prepare for, you know, situations like that your clutch
how to practice your clutch
and I feel like thats the only way for you to practise your clutch. You know.
