Welcome to the second part of our videos on the
Industry Innovation Precincts Initiative. Up to 10
precincts will create national business-led
networks in areas of competitive advantage and
emerging opportunity. They will increase
collaboration from small and medium enterprise to
multi-national corporations, industry
associations, universities, training providers,
research organisations, and government, working
together to build the capability and competitiveness
of firms. Each precinct will have a specific
location that will build critical mass across
both physical and virtual groupings, and have a
national focus. Precincts will work for the sector
rather than just the participants in the precinct.
This focus will create new growth opportunities and
competitiveness, like better coordinating existing services
and leveraging research capacity, as well as providing
new tools and knowledge. Precincts will also foster new
collaborative partnerships that build trust, lead
to innovation and deliver commercial benefits.
They will better align the strategic needs of
industry and government investment, and accelerate
the translation of Australia's research investment,
into positive economic, social and environmental outcomes.
They will establish a stronger culture of innovation and
collaboration amongst Australian firms, and they will also
establish new trade and innovation relationships,
improving Australia's reputation overseas.
Precincts are about putting industry in the
driver's seat to identify key challenges and
opportunities, and determining how to address these
challenges. Keep watching this video series for
