Moving over to the United States.
The death toll continues to rise following a massive tornado. that ripped through Oklahoma.
At least 91 people are dead, and reports say. a local movie theater is being used to house
the bodies of the victims.
Our Connie Lee. has more on the aftermath of the deadly twister. Residents in the Oklahoma
City suburb of Moore are surrounded by devastation. after a massive three kilometer-wide tornado
ripped through the state on Monday.
Hundreds of homes and at least two schools were completely destroyed.
Authorities say more than 90 people are dead, including more than a dozen elementary school
students.
Rescue crews are moving fast to search for possible survivors trapped in their cars or
under flattened buildings.
Ratings from the National Weather Service indicate the tornado was packing winds of
up to 320 kilometers an hour. ranking it an EF4,. but it is expected to rise to an EF5--
the most powerful category of tornado.
"We thought we died because we were inside the cellar door-- we locked the cellar door
once we saw it coming.
It got louder and next thing you know is you see the latch coming undone and we couldn't
reach for it. and it ripped open the door and just glass and debris started slamming
on us-- we thought we were dead to be honest."
According to local power providers, more than 38-thousand people in Oklahoma have been left
without electricity.
Just a day earlier, on Sunday. two tornadoes ripped through the state killing two and injuring
dozens more.
It's tornado season in the U.S., and authorities fear more tornadoes could be on the way.
