a man in Fresno Calif has been sentenced to 14 years behind bars after it was
discovered that he pointed
a laser at a police helicopter in Fresno now this is Sergio Patrick Rodriguez and
he did this with his girlfriend
they were prosecuted a few years ago and they've been convicted
but apparently Sergio's one is gonna spend fourteen years behind bars
fourteen years his girlfriend face up to five years
in prison in her a sentencing
okay look don't be an idiot in point lasers and helicopters especially the
police helicopters are flying lower an emergency
helicopters are flying lower more likely be given their eyes serious business
you know you blind them even for a second you can cause a crashing
cost their lives said it will be a more having said that forty years are you
kidding me
that's knots there not sure people will have been convicted of rate
that haven't gotten sentences that are not long
how do you justify sentencing someone to fourteen years behind bars for that
reason
for small I think intent is important right men in this case I think he was
just an idiot who was playing with the laser anybody would be funny he thought
it was a prank
you want to send a message that's totally fine with me it in danger if
they shouldn't be doing that right
but at the same time this is ruining someone's life over something that they
did without
even thinking about a prior to doing it fourteen years man forty years in prison
are you kidding me
because they don't value is life they don't think they're going to be you know
I give it
if a different charger or you know an upstanding citizen or a politician
upstanding citizen a politician's
kid was doing that as a practical joke in his backyard
you think he's an idiot fourteen years hell no
look again don't do it right now there's a Federal Aviation Administration says
3,206 reports a few women
lasers at aircraft in 2013 at about 11 incidents today that stupid get
and you want to send a message like one year probation is pretty significant
community service Pines do what I really
I think putting somebody in prison for a stupid joke I
its of crazy amber why did they do a wipe your tears for this guy
the judge said I'm rodriguez's criminal past including probation violations
and gang affiliation a led to a stiffer sentence
in other words and I go was in a gang I was going in 40 years some at some point
anyway
I might as well send a message and sent to prison because I don't value is life
anyway
near said in a way for for another example of how we don't believe in
rehabilitating people doesn't have a criminal record probably
Wrightwood what he did was wrong and no one is trying to be little the
seriousness of it
but again he didn't do it because he's trying to kill people he didn't
88 right so why don't we focus on rebuilding people are we ever going to
let us know in an hour you never really know what may be able by
know you can result in anyone who appoint a laser know what we do don't
think some people right we will take those who are wealthy those %uh
Apple lens I in those cases all they need help right they had such a terrible
childhood living in well
but in this case only a criminal background he had the audacity to point
to laser two helicopters little walk away for forty brig in years so
I'm glad you brought up the apt 16 remember I it but Wall Street bankers
that crashed our economy cost
eight million jobs there's a email saying we know this is toxic crap
haha let's big sell it to our own clients anyway
classic the definition of fraud
cost trillions of dollars to the economy eight million jobs
food lol free go and when asked they want to prosecute them
they say well he might affect the worldwide economy if you would
prosecutor in there too big to jail but that's where r
Justice Department ahead for Justice Department said that the hell the
Criminal Division said that
but this guy points a laser get 14 years in prison
Chi I wonder if there's a disparity in the justice system in america
