In James chapter 2 starting in verse 14 it says, “What use is it, my brethren, if someone
says he has faith but he has no works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister
is without clothing or in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘ Go in peace,
be warmed and be filled,’ yet you do not give them what is necessary
for their body, what use is that? Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being
by itself.” So you can see that as much is important in
believing who Jesus is and for salvation, so is obedience which is often neglected.
Jesus calls us to live a life of repentance, righteousness and purity and to no longer
be a slave of sin. We need to obey the commandments that Jesus
has laid out for us and to deny ourselves every day by picking up our cross
and testifying of repentance and the wrath to come for those that are not truly His.
You will know you are on the right path because the world will hate you, Jesus promises that.
But be in good company because Jesus was also hated by the world.
So obedience does not mean reading your Bible every day or going to church Sundays and Wednesdays,
but it is being in obedience to Jesus whatever He calls you to be doing.
And the only way you will know what He calls you to do is if you pray, and spend time in
prayer waiting for Jesus to respond and giving you direction.
Only He can tell you what He wants for you. Not the Bible, not a pastor or anyone else;
only Jesus can let you what His will is and what is important to Him.
So go and pray and ask Him if you have been obedient to Him and what else you can do to
be obedient to Him. Ask if you are truly His.
But go and pray, spend some time with Jesus today.
Love you guys and Jesus bless you.
