There is a great game - Commandos Behind the Enemy Lines. If you ever played
it for a few hours, perhaps the following scream is stuck in you mind for
the rest of your life: Ein Verletzter! Alarm! Alarm!
Only now I have finally understood how this is spelled and what does that mean.
In German, leading letter in words starting with consonants often sound different
from what they are spelled. Leading s is often pronounces as z, for example.
In this case, "Ein Verletzter" means "a wounded", and "alarm" is alarm.
