Acupressure points in the chest. That is kind of an interesting topic. Hi my name is Mark
Brinson and I'm a doctor of oriental medicine, physical medicine specialist and human performance
specialist. When you look at any acupressure chart or acupuncture chart, one in the same.
What you normally find is that the chest and the abdomen seem to be layered with points.
In reality most of these points really aren't that potent. In acupressure or acupuncture
the further you get out towards the hands, the wrists, and the feet, the more potent
the points actually are. Now there are a couple of points that being said that are fairly
good on the chest. One is directly in the center of the sternum or the breast bone.
You've got a point called ren or conception 19. This point when stimulated is excellent
for overall breathing, inability to take a deep breath, taking too much breath at the
same time. It is kind of a regulatory point. Also if you split the difference between the
shoulder and the neck right in the middle and move lateral just a little and down, there
is a point here called lung 1 and this is an excellent point to stimulate overall lung
function and also to tell if there is anything wrong with the lung because if it is really
really tender sometimes that shows up as an alarm point. Now remember though in Eastern
medicine when you say the lung you are talking about all respiratory function and the function
of the skin and overall chi or almost like the immune system is what they are talking
about. So that can be a really good point to stimulate as well. My name is Mark Brinson
hoping you find good balance and good chest acupressure points.
