Last few years, Simulation games are in the big trouble.
Those games are released every year
to give the players experience of controlling their favorite sportsmen.
The current names and places are not convincing argument
for release of the brand new game.
And here is the problem:
Unlike the arcade games,
The simulations are limited strictly limited
by their real life patterns.
These days, the simulations are lot of sophisticated
so it´s difficult for developers, to release the new game every year.
Anyway, there are few developers,
which are handling that new/not-new situations pretty well.
Ant we are not talking about EA
a. k. a. masters of raising prices with no reasonable causes.
Some developers are gifted, so they can make a good game every year with reasonable price.
Today, I tested the game developed by Italian studio, Milestone.
After the great game, MotoGP13, those developers just released the newest game of the series WRC, World Rally Championship 4.
So... What does it offers to us, customers?
The biggest changes, compared to the previous work, are current names of the racers, current tracks and cars.
You can drive the car of your this year favorite racer.
You can create your own character as well.
and race for your own team.
There are few changes in the singleplayer "lobby"
Which is created like some room with laptop, shelf, TV...
the same, as in Moto GP 13.
We don´t like that.
Everything is worse organized and slower.
The classical menu in the WRC3 was better.
And after all... in the age of the great, large, full HD maps,
Is that realy that hard to make an interesting design of one room?
Whatever, let´s continue.
On the games start, the player can create his driver and co-driver.
Players can name their team and name their manager as well. (not sure, how useful is that).
Than, there are no more excuses, to not get into muddy hell.
Obviously, the player is not starting with his own racing team.
He must race for some other team first,
Later, the player will get some cars and starts his own career, reaching the higher rally categories.
Now, we can talk about the racing.
First, what we can talk about, is good looking graphics.
Of course, it´s not the GTA5
but we must realize, that graphics of this game is purpose-built.
Everything looks, as it should look.
So graphics is well done.
Some players may be a little bit confused by tachometer,
which is the bar, instead of classical circular, but it´s not the big deal.
After the start of the rally, every player would be impressed.
Rally feeling is perfect in this game
Even with the cars of lower classes, You can have a great driving experience.
The feeling is similar to previous WRC,
but because of a few improvements,
aou can actualy feel the cars mass.
After all... The game simulates the ton of metal
which is moving realy fast on unpaved surface.
The driving model is just great.
Now, we will talk about the souds.
The sounds are made well too.
There is one realy bad thing about the sounds.
It´s really annoying bug.
Time to time, the game turns off all sounds (in whole system)
And the only way to fix the sounds, was turn the game off.
We are not the only players, who experienced that kind of issues.
It happens too frequently
So we believe, that some new patch will come out early and will fix the sound bug.
The player can play against other players as well.
Periodically, the Milestone provided multiplayer is in the bad condition,
but it is still better, than Moto GP 13 multiplayer, right after release.
It is a shame that one that big mistake can possibly ruin the perfect game.
After all... The rally experience without the noisy engines, is not the proper rally experience.
But it is the only big issue and if you don´t experience that bug, you will be entertained
Considering the fact, that this game has no competition,
We approve that game.
