Here we are at Armasight Night Vision. I'm with Karl Erickson. Last year, Armasight brought
out a really new cool technology, they brought out the unit, the Spark, that has a
CORE intensifier tube in there. So walk me through what they did with the CORE
tube, with the Spark, and then the advancements in that.
Standard Gen 1 tube, available to civilian markets. It's a glass intensifier tube,
works ok, not very tough.
What Armasight did was, they took that intensifier tube, you see it's metal, and they
surrounded it with a ceramic shell around it. One,
thing's virtually bomb proof now. But also, it's actually a little better resolution.
So for roughly $100 more, you're getting
where the civilian market would be getting a Gen 1 sight,
now you're almost to a Gen 2 level.
It's bomb proof now, and you're looking at
less than a $100 more. Great great technology. So the natural step to
go from last year, where they premiered the Spark, the next step was hey, let's
put it in a weapon-mounted sight. So we have the same CORE ceramic tube that's in
the DRAKOS weapon sight. You have variable intensity brightness over here,
you've got focus *** on top, you've got actual target turrets for adjusting
the red reticle, and you see they're protected with caps. A lot of sights,
they have exposed windage adjustments, windage and elevation. And when
you're out in the middle of the woods,
you're out in the middle of that gun fight, they're easy to bump, easy to lose your zero.
So again,
great great sight.
It takes up very little space with the quick detach mount on your rail system.
Getting a lot of site for your money there. Another new weapon sight
they're also premiering is the Vulcan line. This one right here is 3.5x,
they also have a 2.5x version.
This one
is available in either ITT Pinnacle, this particular one is again
in the White Phosphor Armasight Ghost Tube.
Makes this sight great by adding a 2x Doppler,
screws right onto the front.
I've now changed this site from 3.5x to 7x
magnification. So I can use it for very short range, close in the woods,
put that 2x Doppler on there, and now I can actually reach out, a little further out.
Same great features of the other sights, again interchangability of the
batteries, either 123 lithium battery or a AA battery.
It also has a wireless remote control. So you can mount your wireless
remote control wherever it feels comfortable for you to have that push button on your
weapon system, whether you're left to right handed, you put it where you need it,
you don't have to worry about running a cable to get hung up on the brush and stuff. Great great
sight from Armasight.
It really does blow me away all the different features you get right here.
Adjustability - if you've ever used a night vision scope, the ability to have that adjustment
right here, you really need it. The covered turrets so you're not gonna bump them, still easily
finger adjustable. Quick release mount, you've got a little PIC rail right here, so you can add another IR
illuminator if you want. Jumping to this sight, you get a 2.5 sight or 3.5 sight
and it comes with this doubler on there, with a remote control, you get a lot
of features from Armasight. They're pulling out all stops, a lot of features. The CORE
technology, you bring it into the dedicated weapons sight, that's huge. Absolutely
huge. Karl, thanks again for spending time with us today.
