It’s still very hard. I mean, even when you look at the Broadway season, I mean, the
theatre isn’t so much about Broadway anymore. It’s really about plays that are done all
over the country in regional theatres. It’s not really New York oriented anymore, so…I
mean, I’m a New York playwright. I grew up here. This is what I know, you know, but
I think if you talk to any younger playwrights—Michael Weller, whatever, or even my plays have all
started at the Seattle Rep, and Dan Sullivan, the director I’ve worked with, is the artistic
director there, so both Heidi and The Sisters Rosensweig were done in Seattle first, so…
