Vickie S.: Hi. This is Vickie Siculiano here, on vacation in sunny Florida. I am so excited
to be able to share this video with you. I wanted to share some cool apps that I'm using
with you on my vacation. They're apps that you can use every day in your business to
get better control of the photographs that you take, and the ones that you want to tell
your story with. This video is to share with you how I'm shooting this video.
It's HD video on the iPhone 5s. Okay? My audio is coming through my lavalier ... my ATR2500.
It's a wired lavalier. I'll show you ... here's the wire. I'm connected into my headphone
jack on my iPhone. Make sure you have it in the on position, as I've done too many times
with in the off position. It's also connected to the camera through this really cool KB
connector. It costs about 25 bucks, and it just converts the audio into signal that the
phone can understand to capture for the video. The video software that I'm using with my
iPhone 5s is Movie Pro. That's great because you can really lock the exposure and the focus
independently of what your camera is telling you. You don't want to just hit the camera
button, and then go to the video, and then hit record. You want to have a little bit
more control when you're getting a story to capture for your audience. Again, it's the
KB connector. I'm using a lavalier. I'm using the Movie Pro app. I don't use the camera
app to take video for you. I am using, though, the reverse view camera
on the iPhone ... not the front one that has a lot of pixels and it's really HD quality.
This is super simple and really easy for you to do if you're doing this by yourself and
you want to set up. I'm on a tripod now ... in the sand. So cool. Much different than New
Jersey when I'm taking videos and photos with my phone. You can totally do that yourself
if you're taking photographs with your camera, I've been using on vacation here the Top Camera
app. This was something that was recommended to
me by my photography instructor, Mike Downey, of Unique Photo. Super awesome app. You have
control of your exposure, your focus. With the camera app that comes with your phone,
let's face it ... it's a really cool tool for, again, amateur photographers. If you
want to do something more for business ... use your marketing skills to use your camera for
sharing a story and visual content, then you want to have more control over those visuals,
which I'll be sharing more about with you. Top Camera app. Movie Pro app. I've got a
lavalier. Let me see what other tools we have. Oh, here's a totally cool one. This is something
also handed to me by Mike Downey. Photographer's Ephemeris. It's TPE. It's about 2.99 in the
app store. It lets you know where the sun is going to be rising and setting. If you're
on a camera shoot ... Say you're in the real estate business and you want to get really
good lighting on a property you're that going to be showing and you want to get it online,
then you definitely need a little bit more control.
You want to try to get those photos in the golden hour, if possible ... early morning,
early evening so that you can get the best light on the properties that you want to show.
Again, you don't get a second chance to make a first impression. I hope those were some
tools I wanted to share with you now. If you don't mind, I'm going to go back to my vacation.
If you have any questions, post them for me on this video, either here on YouTube or my
website saywowmarketing.com. If you're listening to the audio from this podcast that I'm going
to be launching in March, 2014, you can see more in the video that accompanies this audio.
Again, thanks for watching and see you when I'm back in New Jersey. Take care now.
