"welcome to Biophilia the love for nature in all her manifestations"
"from the tiniest organism to the greatest red giant floating in the farthest"
"realm of the universe" - how nice to see you
- you like this place? - yeah it's pretty epic
- it's a great place everything is here
microbes, man, minerals
everything! "with Biophilia comes"
"a restless curiosity an urge to investigate and discover the elusive"
"places"
"where we meet nature, where she plays on our senses with colors and forms"
"perfumes and smells"
"the taste and touch of salty wind on the tongue"
- you have a very odd voice Bjork I mean really
the fact that your larynx can produce this extraordinary range
it can't be just an accident!
that range of sound was just for one time or another
valuable and functional
and the fact that you are exploiting it in a way
which would have made sense ancestry.
- that makes a lot of sense yeah
- actually singing is more fundamental to
us than speaking, actually the human larynx
is capable of so much more
variety of sound than as required for language
- it is gone by chatting away
"but much of nature is hidden from us"
"that we can neither see or touch, like the one phenomenon"
"that can be said to move us more than any other in our daily lives"
"sound!"
- for me is quite interesting how
the range of crystals, how they're like totally different
they can look really hard and
merciless but then really fragile and pretty
- you know but the fact that you
look at crystals and have called one of your compositions
"crystalline" because it is about the mathematics
the fundamental mathematics which is the foundation
of so much in the natural world, you sense by the beauty
I know a mathematician would talk about the beauty
of an equation because, I wish I was a mathematician which I am not
a and you can sense that when you hear a five-part (harmony)
by bar which also has a mathematical beauty
and so much which is sublime
"in Biophilia you will experience how the three come together"
"nature, music, technology" "listen"
"learn and create, travel the cosmos lying at your fingertips"
"touch the galaxies and move through the three dimensions"
"now, forget to the size of the human body"
"remember that your a gateway between the universal"
"and the microscopic, the unseen forces that stir the depts of your innermost"
"being"
"and nature who embraces you and all there is"
- most, a lot of people, well everyone probably, is such a beautiful catalyst
between reality and, like the out world to the inner world
where you can actually make some sort of a sense where you can actually...
there's room in music for everything for all these little bits that you
you cannot fit into your your everyday life
and and yeah it's pretty abstract
"we are on the brink of a revolution"
"that will reunite humans with nature, through new"
"technological innovations, and till we get there"
"prepare! explore! Biophilia!"
- music to be more rewarding
actually does require thought, does require
work, does require concentration, which is why
your music is so challenging, well because it does require thought
and so much of what you do
hasn't been done by people before, it's completely new
and that's what's challenging about it, so if you're very tired...
if I'm very tired, I don't put on you music, I put on your music
when I want to really think about something!
- I'll take that as a compliment - It was meant as!
