Hi, I’m Tom Antion from www.AmazingPublicSpeaking.com. I know you’re here looking for sample PowerPoint
presentations. But what I want to ask you, is that really going to help you be a great
presenter? What are you going to do if your PowerPoint quits on you or electricity goes
out? Are you just going to lay down and die or fade into oblivion like the Wicked Witch
of the West?
No, you need to be a great presenter and be able to move people to action all by yourself,
no PowerPoint, no flipchart, no nothing but you. And if you have that skill, you’ll
probably be less nervous when you get up there, and you can use flipcharts and PowerPoint
as an adjunct to make your presentation better. But most people depend on it to make the presentation
in the first place.
Now I know a lot of you are expected to do this in your companies, expected to make a
PowerPoint presentation. But not one executive has ever told you, “Hey, make it all in
the PowerPoint presentation,” and you just stand there and pick your nose. Have it? No.
You are expected to be part of the presentation.
So if you use PowerPoint, make yourself the biggest part of the presentation, not the
PowerPoint. That way, if it fails or quits on you, you’re able to really get the job
done even if it doesn’t work. That’s the kind of presenters I teach; that’s the kind
of presenter I want you to be. And when you get that skill under your belt, the whole
world is open to you.
You could even get paid to speak as a professional speaker, even on weekends or part time, to
start. We have a ton of information about that also over at www.AmazingPublicSpeaking.com.
So forget the sample PowerPoint presentations. Put the time into you being great and nobody
can ever take that away from you. Come over to www.AmazingPublicSpeaking.com and maybe
one of these days, I’ll be hearing your name on the speaking circuit. Catch you later.
