For this video I'm recording with the Canon 600D and a Samyang lens 14mm f2.8
using iso 400 which this len's maximum aperture. (the f2.8).
a characteristic of this lens is the distortion of the lines
let me see if we can see here ....somewhere
maybe here....where the vertical lines are
on the edge of the image. But this is typical wide angle lens distortion
and is not particularly strong in this case
What's more, this lens doesn't work very well in portraits as it makes faces appear longer
And changes proportions
In this video I wanted to
make a simple comparison between
The Canon 600D internal microphone
That has very high background noise, because of the low quality preamp
A Zoom H2n recorder
which also has the ability to record in surround mode
then to record environments
And super-duper microphone
the Neumann M149 tube microphone
using a strip-channel preamp
of the Focusrite blu series
the ISA 430 mk2
and this one... which can't seen because it is below
The Fireface 800 sound card
Well, let's start listening
the....Little Mike
Right now I'm recording using the Zoom H2n
at 44mhz and 16 bit
This little recorder has a lot of features
From my point of view these is an exceptional product because of its price and features
In fact, it can record at any frequencies, from 96mhz to 44mhz
as well as all MP3 resolutions
Right now I'm only using the autogain effect
That allows me to avoid having to adjust the volume every second
lets take a listen the Neumann M149
This is the audio that we have using
the Neumann M149 tube microphone
processed by a Focusrite Isa 430MK2
blue series....this one
through the Fireface 800 sound card
straight into the MacBook Air
I'm using GarageBand without any effects
Only some light compression and equalization
into the strip-channel...into the Focusrite
ok.....that's it
I hope this video has been useful in some way...
Bye!
