Hi Soompiers, we are the Odd Eye.
Hi, we are Odd Eye!
My name is Eeum. I play the cello and am a vocalist.
I’m Hayule and I play the violin and am a vocalist too.
I play the violin and am a vocalist three. (Joke regarding Hayule’s “vocalist too/two” comment)
It’s probably because we majored in classical music so it would be Vanessa-Mae and Bond- people who performed with electric instruments.
I think they influenced us a lot.
We try to add on Odd Eye’s color like singing and choreography and we are trying our best.
The person in Odd Eye who has the oddest sleeping habit is...
1..2..3..
She can’t even raise her hand.
We spend a lot of nights together because we live in the same dorm.
If it’s sleeping habits, Odd Eye’s Hayule is really the best.
Mikki and I tend to sleep normally and quietly.
Hayule tends to physically express what she’s dreaming so we’re able to guess what she dreamt.
She sings, laughs, claps her hands..
They’ll think that I’m a weird person.
And she practices a lot in her sleep.
That’s why I always say I’m tired when I wake up.
Nowadays, Hayule and I share the same room. These days, I can’t really tell.
I witnessed it a couple of times.
I’m the biggest victim so I know that Hayule is the best in regards to sleeping habits.
For me, I really like shopping and have a lot of interest in fashion.
So I think that if I didn’t pursue music, wouldn’t I probably work in fashion?
I'm only saying what I think!
I really like working out and am flexible, my body’s flexible, so yoga? Maybe a yoga instructor.
When I was young, I really like to follow..
“따라하기 바쁜걸” (“Catch Me If You Can”)
Yea, I think I would’ve done yoga.
As for me, my parents were so strict so they were against me pursuing this career in the beginning.
Even when I was young, I loved being on television.
That’s why, my parents and I tried to find an agreement and thought of being an announcer
because the image is upright and the job requires being on television.
I think I’ve always thought about being an announcer.
I think you’d do better with that occupation. I’m sorry.
Since we majored in classical music, there are many people who think that we probably wouldn’t have ventured out to other genres.
However, I do think that people who majored in classical music also like mainstream music.
Especially for us, we have a big interest in mainstream music and didn’t want to limit to classical music.
We also want to squash the stereotypes of classically trained artists and, with these motives, created the team Odd Eye. That’s how Hayule and I met.
And through the long audition process, we found our last member, Miki.
That’s how the three members met.
All three of us have people at home who are involved in music. We received a lot of their influences.
As for me, my mother majored in piano and became a piano teacher.
She also really loved the violin. That’s probably why she had me learn the violin.
Miki and I also were influenced by our parents.
That’s why, when we first tried the instruments, we learned to love its sound and charms.
That’s probably why we chose our instruments.
What’s really interesting is that my mom is also a piano teacher.
Oh, I’ll take this one! Eeum unni is like chocolate ice cream.
Yes because chocolate ice cream comes in milk chocolate and dark chocolate.
As the leader, you have the polymerization effect of dark chocolate while also having a lot of aegyo.
She has that kind of sweet charm like milk chocolate. That’s why she’s like chocolate ice cream.
As for Hayule unni, she’s very feminine. Very feminine, delicate, and she’s the most detail-oriented out of us.
That’s why, she’s probably vanilla ice cream.
Does vanilla ice cream represent detail-oriented and delicate?
It is in my point of view.
Then, I’ll try to describe Miki. Since I’m chocolate and Hayule is vanilla, I’ll say that she’s strawberry.
Isn’t neapolitan a combo of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry?
Her clothes are similar to strawberry and it gives off the feeling of freshness, it stands out and is the maknae.
I don’t really like strawberries, haha.
So we’ll go with that.
And I don’t really like vanilla.
We’re like neapolitan and are a trio. We’re very close
To be honest, we thought about this before and talked about it as well.
As for Miki, she likes the beat so she’s interested in the drums.
As for Hayule, the guitar. She wants to learn the guitar
and when she plays, she can sing simultaneously with ease.
And for performances, violins.. I can run around.
Her arms are occupied holding the bow so her hands will be freer. That’s why she talked about the guitar.
For me, I thought a lot about it.
Odd Eye’s concept was formed as a string instrument group, while other groups have a lot of instruments.
In order to protect Odd Eye’s image, I took out cello and violin and what I’m left with is the viola.
We must stick with string instruments.
She’s just like a leader. Thinking about Odd Eye first.
There are so many. Out of those, we’d like to..
Maroon 5.
We are huge fans.
If you go to our Odd Eye official YouTube, you’ll see our string pop medley… Everyone remembers, right?
Yes, out of those, there are many times when we covered their songs with string arrangement.
Maybe that’s why, and also because the songs are good in general,
but we have a good number of foreign fans.
Since we’re a string band and they are an original band, wouldn’t it be nice to have our violin and cello with their main vocal, drum, and guitar? Wouldn’t it be fun?
Please reach out to us.
We want to collaborate with you guys, Maroon 5. Please.
At what age did all of us start?
I started the violin at 6.
We all started young on the piano and I started the cello when I was 11.
I started at 10. We all started when we were young and received a lot of influence from our parents.
We all did piano, right? We all started on the piano.
For me, I previously mentioned that I really liked the guitar. I’m learning the guitar on my own right now and..
Please look forward to it.
And I think that everyone wants to know a variety of instruments. To learn..
We have to carve out our own instruments, but we’ll try our best learning the instruments.
I’m not sure if it’s right for us to use the phrase “change the music industry.”
Rather than that, and personal preferences, I’m thinking that we might have a tendency to do music that does well or follow other group’s music that we look up to.
We did classical music, but didn’t think we would end up taking this route.
In order to set us apart, it would be great if we could create music in many different genres.
Rather than wanting to receive a lot of love from the public, we’d like to be able to express our thoughts.
We hope that more varied artists will be born.
That’s something we’d like to keep pursuing and want to keep digging into Odd Eye’s color.
That way, we hope we’ll get more fans.
We hope you guys had a good time.
Thank you for watching this.
