So, in this, in 4.3, we're going to talk a bit about, how do we, what do we do if we need to identify some necessary revisions to the
projects. As with any type of the project that we may have on the go, there may be some changes that occur as we're in the middle of the project,
or there may be some things that we intended to do but couldn't do now or may have found out that, yeah, we want
to change to stream that we've been going down because
the initial ones that we've done in some of these things, or as it starts to roll, wants to take us us to another way
that we think would be more successful in achieving our objectives,
and also that of maybe the grant agency. But the question then becomes, just as we talked in a lot of this, that there's no standard format.
Each agency based on the grant that it's giving, or the amount of money it may be contributing to the project, etc.,
may want or should be involved at different stages as you do revise that project. Remember that
grant agency has originally given you money to do a project that you described to them.
And they've, really, you have a bit of a commitment to them from that to do it, but you also have an obligation to deliver on that project. So if
there are areas that now the project is gonna change significantly, and what its objective was,
you need to make sure that that grant agency is aware of that, to some extent,
even from, whether there be any contractual obligation to do that, there's certainly a bit of a
moral obligation, I would say, to do that, and to make sure
as we talked about before, we want to start building our relationship with these grant agencies to help us as
we go down the future. So talk to the grant administrator
, you know, if there's a significant change or direction that you're going with the project, make sure that they're aware of that. See
if they have any concerns with that, and if they do, then talk to them about how you can alleviate some of those concerns, and still how the
project will not only meet your needs but also meet their needs and the objectives of what you originally talked about.
There's no special way to say how we keep them updated unless their asking for periodic reports on the project, but is not bad to
build some things into your project that allows them to be involved with it. So it may be a simple e-mail, it may be, say,
"hey, we've completed the first phase of this, or we're 3-4 weeks into this now, just want to let you know that things are going really well,
we're really pleased with it, we've increased, or we're on target for our numbers."
You know, some of those type of things, or we exceeded our expectations to date or whatever it may be. Look at some of those things and
find out how to keep them involved. So that they're interested in our project and hopefully be interested in future projects that we do have,
as we go down the road.
The other area is, we do have the need, at the end of the day, to complete and
implement the project so we do have an obligation to do that.
So we need to look at, when we do that, that it's not, you know, it's not, we now have the money, and it's simply, we're going to
get it or we can use it however we want. We do an obligation to complete our project. So make sure that you do that, and make sure once you've
completed that, as well, that you do give whatever necessary reporting to
the group back in a fairly quickly and
complete and in a timely manner.
That will not only help you with the credibility of getting that information off of your desk, or whatever, or if
you're the volunteer who's doing it. But the longer you go with many of these projects, the more
the information seems to get lost, or it's not quite as fresh in your mind to
make sure that the report is as thorough and as accurate and complete as it should be. That's it for 4.3, on some
of the things we need to look at it if we're going to revise our project and, as I say, ultimately make sure that we complete and implement
our project. Thank you.
