Hi, I'm Annaliese from America's Next Top Model: British Invasion and welcome to my
Videojug series, Models' Corner.
Now there's no denying that Beyonce is one of the biggest stars in the world, and she
pretty much changes her hair style every other week, but I think one of her most iconic has
to be her big, bouncy, curly Afro look. So today I'm going to be teaching you how to
recreate the look, not imitate, but just give you that lovely Beyonce bounce.

So last night I washed and conditioned my hair, and then put it up in a bun basically
so that it could dry, and then hopefully my curls are nice and preserved, let's see.
Alright, so this is my natural curl form and basically at this stage it's all about just
getting your fingers into the hair and getting the air going through really. That's it, nice
and big.
Alright, let's find my parting which is usually on this side, but you can probably do whatever
way you feel comfortable. Get that going, and you can see already we've got a little
bit of a bounce going.
Now it's really important to make sure that you protect your hair from heat, so I use
this which is which is Blue Magic. You can use any different kind of hair protector,
there's loads of them on the market, but this is the bog style for me and I like it.
So you only need a little bit, otherwise you'll have really greasy hair, it's not a good look.
So rub it in between your hands, and then get it going in your hair.
This is going to protect and moisturize my hair when I start using the curlers. Alright,
so we've got a natural curl pattern here, but it's a little bit boring, it hasn't quite
got enough bounce, so that's when I bring in my magic curling wand.
This one is a quarter inch barrel, you can get them in loads of different sizes, but
you can see what size curls these ones produce. This one is actually a tong, but I never use
it. Last time I tried to use it I actually got stuck so I would just say to avoid that
big all together.
So when using these it's just as simple as taking a little section of hair, wrapping
it around the wand, leaving it for a couple seconds, and viola! I quite like these curls,
but you can do loads of different things with them, like I can open them out so their not
as tight together and then you just basically want to work your way around the whole head,
just giving different variations and working with your own curl pattern.
Let's just try another one, we'll go right in here for this one.
Wrap, wrap, wrap, viola! Love those. I absolutely love Beyonce's hair, one of her best looks
for me has got to be when she was in Austin Powers. And those were really really tight
curls, let's see if I can create those as well.
There you go! And basically you just go through the whole hair and creating different textures.
Beyonce's hair is definitely very bouncy, I'm sure she's got a team of stylists working
on it, but at the same time you can create something just as fabulous at home.
So we're nearly done, we've got a variation of curls going on, but now it's time to put
in some Label M Hold and Gloss Spray. Literally, you're just going to go all over the gaf,
getting it right in there at the root, right around the top. This is basically going to
hold your curl and also create a nice shine. It's perfect to hold your hair when it comes
to teh crazy winds that go on outside as well.
So that's it, we've got our Beyonce bounce, and I'm feeling pretty funky indeed!
Remember, if you like this video make sure you give it a thumbs up, don't forget you
can subscribe to Videojug as well, and I'm going to be back next week with another episode
of models' corner, and I'm going to be focusing on Tyra Banks' cheek bones.
