More people are coming down with the swine flu than the regular flu this season.
And there's rumors that there's a swine flu vaccine shortage.
So we asked our medical editor, Dr. Paul Little,
to look into the problem, and he joins us now with the details.
Doc, what did you find out?
Yeah, I was as puzzled as you are
because there are a lot of misleading news reports out there.
So I asked the DoD man in charge for an explanation.
There really is no problem.
Those were early projections as to when the vaccine will be delivered.
We expect to be able to receive the vaccine approximately the first week of November,
and with our command emphasis, we expect to be immunizing our soldiers
immediately upon receipt.
Colonel Krukar said all military personnel are going to get the injectable form of the vaccine,
and he also told me the nasal form of the swine flu vaccine
is already being given to our children and young adults in military clinics.
So check with your local medical treatment facility for details.
And that's the latest on swine flu.
