We are showing our own house to show you my ideas of design colors chosen, pictures chosen, tile or bathroom stuff etc
also to show you that Glen and his mechanical intelligence and how he can configure his bathroom.
The bathroom was extended 2 feet. I wanted it to be a Roman bath spa.
So if you look at the stones here, these are spa stones.
And when I was selecting, them the gal or manager at the tile store said oh my gosh this is awesome.
Glen came up with the idea of building a niche here. We were going to have running water until I said no that is okay. Not yet.
We have this black oval round jacuzzi tub right here I am sitting on.
It is absolutely divine. We are hunters. We found this at Habitat for Humanity.
This bath alone was awaiting design from me.
I absolutely said yes and I was happy Glen was able to work with it.
He calls me, I found a bathtub for $100, but it is black. I said don't you worry about a thing, we will take care of it.
I also put the spa stones on the bottom here
to make it feel like a spa. The stone is travertine from Italy. So we have porcelain walls so we decided to put it in as a subway style imitation.
and you can see the way it is. The pattern is subway. It is called subway tile.
We decided to do the whole bathroom instead of have tile and the rest paint or whatever..
It is easier to maintain, you don't have to paint it every 2 or 3 years due to the moisture,
Also the glass doors, these are all custom made. If you go to our website
you will see that we have a specialized glass door company that we use constantly and it is Fox Glass Mirror.
Cheryl and her husband own it and so we are very, very happy with their work.
If you take a picture of the top of the ceiling Mike, this was Glen's idea to put a sauna like feeling
install treated cedarwood. You can also see we also built in 2 niches there to put our supplies in for washing.
We have a regular shower head, we have a rain shower head up on the ceiling.
and we have a slider that you can take off when you are showering.
so choose to use many different types of pressures it dispurses.
Yes it is good for older guests. Yes it is actually we made bathroom handicap or accessible for those who need wheelchairs.
My mom is in a wheelchair sometimes we use it. It is very very easy for her.
This device right here is good for the older folks when they can't bend or anything like that.
Glen put a knee wall in for more privacy and the commode over here instead of having the wall go all the way up to enhance the visual largeness of the bathroom. And if you understand if there is a wall right here it would actually look alot smaller than
what it is. This vanity we actually bought with the sinks in it all ready.
We both selected our fixtures and I found this mirror. It is Italian ebony wood.
This is granite counter top and right now there are a lot of places where you can buy this all ready made.
It is a matter of installing and having the right color choices and this is what I like to do. I like to help people with stuff like this.
What about the floors? Are they easy to maintain. The floors are travertine. A lot of people don't like travertine because it is hard to maintain.
I don't have a problem with it. But. if you can see there is a shine on the floor. I actually treated this with a primer sealer and I did the stones as well, the spa stones as well.
I have no problem cleaning this at all. I just use vinegar and water. How old is the floor. We completed this bathroom a year and 1/2 ago.
