Hello everyone,
Today we will be folding this Origami Star.
It's a traditional origami model.
And it's pretty easy to fold.
Okay ready set? Here we go!
Okay for the Origami Star-
We need a square sheet of paper. I like to use. Origami paper better known as Kami in Japanese.
But really
any paper will do the job.
And the Christmas Star is folded from a square base.
If you already know how to fold a square base.
Then you can skip ahead.
Okay this is how you make the square base.
You fold the paper in half.
Both ways.
And don't unfold.
But now you take this edge and fold it along this crease.
Music
And turn the model over.
And do it again.
And make very precise
creases.
That's really important.
Like this.
Okay, and now we have a triangle with one big pocket.
Put all your fingers inside the pocket.
And squash it down.
That we have a Diamond shape.
And this is called:
the square base. Or bird base
Squash it down.
And we are done we have the square base. Just kidding :-) Okay next step.
Now make sure that the open part
is facing downwards.
And now you take
this edge
And this edge and fold it along
the center crease.
It looks like a kite
shape.
Music
And turn the model over.
And do it again. Make the kite shape
Okay, and now we have this. Now mountain fold
this triangle behind.
See like this.
Okay unfold. Those two flaps.
Here we have a pocket.
Open the pocket.
The flap.
And fold
along these two creases.
And if you made a Crane.
then this step will be easy for you.
Okay now we have this.
Turn the model. And unfold
these two flaps.
And do it again
Open the flap
and it looks like a boat. And flatten the boat.
Along the existing creases.
And now we have this.
Now fold
the flaps down.
And now sink this triangle.
And to make it a little bit easier.
Can you make the crease
really sharp.
And you can make it as a valley fold. And then a mountain fold.
Okay, and now you open the model.
And here you can see a square.
Here's the square. And now you pinch
along the square. All mountain folds.
See.
Go along and pinch.
And this is called a open sink.
Okay, and now we have
Here we have a square. Now
push inside the square.
And make it as the Water Bomb base.
You push it together.
See and this is the Water Bomb Base.
And the Open Sink is done. Okay what we did is
It was like this.
And we pinched. Along
all the creases.
And push
in the center.
And squeeze it together.
Well now what we need to do is.
Let's zoom in a little bit.
Now you fold
this flap up as far as he can go.
You can see it here.
Like this.
Fold it straight up.
Like this.
As far as he can go.
And turn it over. And do it again. Like this. And now you fold
The left flap to the right.
And turn it over. And do it again. So that we can fold
these two flaps up. As far as he can go. Like this.
Okay, and now we have this.
Okay now you fold this flap up from
this point and this point. See from this point to this point. Give it a nice sharp crease.
Like this. And do it again.
On the right.
And turn it over and do it again.
And fold the left flap to the right.
And turn it over.
And do it again.
So that we can do it
with these two flaps.
And we are almost done.
Okay, and now what we need to do is. You hold it like this.
And you open
the Star.
See you open it up.
And make the model flat.
And the Origami Star is done!
Oh by the way.
You also can fold
You can turn it over
Fold it up from this point to this point.
Fold it up.
This is just an extra step.
To make it a little bit better
Not really much.
A little bit.
And now the Origami Star is done!!!
It's very beautiful.
You can use it as a Christmas decoration.
But Christmas is over :-(
Okay that's it the Origami Christmas Star.
I hope that you guys are able to make it. Origami Christmas Star.
