Welcome to recyclekaro.com's Green Ganesha Campaign
Every year we beseech Ganeshji to visit our home and bless us
Then we give him a watery farewall
We dump in more than 1.5 lakh tonnes of pollution
on Mumbai's Sea-shore every year.
We made Ganesh into a vehicle of pollution.
Next year we are planning to make even larger idols of Ganeshji with poison.
Yes poison. The materials that are used to make Ganesh Idols
are poisonous to the environment.
Ganesh Idols are made of Plaster of Paris
that do not dissolve in water easily
and makes the water more acidic.
ThIS water becomes unstable for aquatic life.
And of couse, as the dissolving Ganesh Idols
block the natural flow of the water,
The stagnant water breeds mosquitoes.
In many areas, this polluted water reaches homes.
A small effort on our part will make Ganesh Chaturthi a really happy festival
even for the Fish and Water Plants.
Lets use mud Idols instead of those made of Plaster of Paris.
Mud is as strong as POP to make larger than life Ganesh Idols
Mud dissolves easily in water.
Mud does not make the water acidic .
The water remains life giving even after the immersion of Ganesh Idols made with mud.
Ganeshji gives us Knowledge. Now that we know the ill-effects of
POP from this year onwards
let us welcome loard Ganesha with mud Idols
