If you go to any stained glass store, and even some art stores, you'll find a very wide
selection of beautiful glasses to choose from. There are lots of things to take into consideration
when you're choosing a glass, and here are some things to think about. One thing is whether
it's opaque or translucent. Opaque is glass you can't see through. This is a good example
of opaque glass, you can't see my hand behind it. Some glass is translucent, here is a very
good example of translucent glass. One thing to think about when choosing translucent glass,
is that whatever you glue it to, you'll see whatever is underneath. Sometimes you don't
want to see your substrate. Other times for example: if you collage onto your substrate,
you would want to see those images through. Glass comes in every color you can possibly
imagine. Even something like green, you have different shades to choose from. You can have
very bright colors, or you can have very simple colors, like white. This is a lovely piece,
because it's also shiny on one side. Here's an example of some mirrored glass, this is
a gold mirror, and this is a regular mirror. You can also have textured glass, so this
is a textured mirror. Here's a textured opaque glass, looks almost like fish scales. Or glass
that has a lot of different design already in it.
