This is a 90 second overview of LiveBinders. The internet has given us powerful access
to knowledge. But how do we share it?
Whether you're a teacher sharing websites with your class
or a parent trying to help your child succeed you need a way to group, classify and share
the information that you find.
In the physical world you would use a 3-ring binder.
So why don't we have online binders? Well now we do.
LiveBinders are simply a better way to organize and share the information that we gather on
the web.
Here's the inside of a binder: Websites, Word documents, and videos are easily organized
into tabs and subtabs. And a binder is just a URL that you can send
off to anyone. And building a binder is easy.
You just press this "LiveBinder It" button in your browser toolbar.
As you're browsing on the web and you see something that you want to save
and share you just hit "LiveBinder It". A little menu will pop up and you can add
it to an existing binder or create a new one. And then you can continue to browse or open
that binder. Here's the binder with its new tab.
And you can put binders anywhere. This binder is up on the school website.
Many parents are asking for safe websites for their kids.
Every time they open this binder they see any new sites that were added.
You can drag a URL to your desktop which is great for the computer lab.
Or you can embed Binders in your blog like whta Mrs. Kellogg did here.
In effect LiveBinders is a simple way to share knowledge.
