Hi! I'm doing VEDA: Vlog Every day A- August or April.
It's April now.
I did VEDA last August too.
It may be interesting to see the difference between last August and April.
I watched all the August Vlogs last night.
I watched them a long time, for hours and hours.
My life was different just a few months ago.
Interesting.
Anyway, the reason why I'm signing and my voice is off,
is that I need to practice ASL.
Why I'm doing that is my signing tends to be PSE: Pidgin Signed English.
Instead, I need to practice my grammar for American Sign Language: ASL.
Why? Because I want to change my career.
Currently, I am a Teacher of the Deaf.
But I am teaching just a few Deaf kids, one of whom mostly signs.
She's a girl who is a wonderful student, she's awesome; love her.
She has an interpreter.
Now, I'm not practicing ASL a lot in my classroom.
Now I know I'm PSE, while I'm signing I'm criticizing myself.
It's a bad habit. I need to stop criticizing myself. Stop!
Anyway, so, I thought it would be good practice to try ASL grammar.
Maybe my ASL will improve, we'll see.
Now I'm looking at two different careers that I want.
The first one is to change schools.
I will have an interview at an all-Deaf, all-signing school
called Rocky Mo- bad fingerspelling (lecturing myself)!
Rocky Mountain Deaf School- RMDS.
I'll have an interview this Friday!
We'll see what happens, if it's a good match or not,
if my sign skills are good enough, or not.
If not, I need to accept it. Move on.
Try not to be nervous. Try instead to be calm, zen;
Whatever is best for the school and best for me, I hope will happen.
I'll try for it, why not; see what happens.
If I get the job, that would be awesome.
If not, I'll move on.
Another choice- the first one is RMDS, and the second one: interpreter.
That would have less stress, I wouldn't have to be awake late,
working, practicing, making lesson plans, grading;
I wouldn't have to do any of that.
That would be nice.
I've already taken the Written Exam and passed it; yeah!
I did awesome, I think it was almost perfect. I passed that.
The next exam I need to take is the performance exam for the EIPA:
Educational Interview- blah! Educational Interpreter... P- EIP...
Not sure what the P stands for- Performance? Anyway, EIPA.
Oh, the A is for Assessment.
I think it's Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment.
Anyway, if I pass the performance assessment, which I'll take May 4,
Then I could have a choice. I still may change to another school,
Which would have high pay, benefits, and so on, retirement and so on;
Or change and become an interpreter. School less (stress) would be out of the way;
Bye!
Sionara!
So. We'll see.
Also, recently, I've had a lot of internal assessing and changing;
I'm a lot more calm and accepting of other people and accepting of myself
and loving myself, compared to last August I've changed a lot,
in my opinion.
So, anyway. I hope you enjoy the vlog even if my voice is off for hearing friends,
it may be interesting to see the sign anyway,
Probably my Deaf friends would enjoy not needing to read the captions.
I'll still have captions for the hearing people.
We'll see how it goes. I'll try to keep the vlog short.
Instead of talking on and on.
See, I need to practice my sign. I've been rusty for a while.
I need my signs to flow for my interview on Friday! Eek! We'll see.
Bye.
