The menu J is a whole entire group of tapering stitches. Now what that means is that every
single stitch will have the option to change the start and end point of the stitch. So
depending on what stitch you have and of course, J has multiple menus so all these decorative
stitches can be tapered so they’ll change the direction that they start and end with.
What’s nice is when you go to sew, you start to sew and this little symbol is on your screen
indicating you need to touch the reverse button just above your needle to tell it when you
want the sequence to end and then it will finish by tapering the final part.
Go to the information area. Touch the new info, the new function button that looks like
tapering and you can change the beginning taper to be 60°. It could be 30 right, 30
left; all the different options. So you can just keep touching them until you see something
that you like and then change the ending taper to be the same or something different. So
that’s kind of neat. Touch the green checkmark when you’re done, but of course every stitch
in the J menu can be tapered and this is what you’re going to get when you start to sew.
As you’re sewing along, you’ll start with the taper. You’ll stitch and as soon as
you touch the reverse button, then it will end the taper for you and it’s so pretty
to see. Some of these, this is one that’s always kind of neat. It’s got a neat way
that it changes kind of that Greek key at the beginning. So if we were to match that
taper, the beginning taper is a 45 kind of leaning towards the right and the end point
is 45 leaning also to the right, but we could change it to lean it to the left and you could
have some very unique decorative stitch options. So try out those tapering stitches next time
you’re doing a little embellishing.
