Hi I'm Doug. I work with twenty great guys in St. Louis at Doug Jenkins Custom Hot Rods,
and today we're going to do some work for you on Expert Village. The first step that
Dave's got here when he's putting a new exhaust on this car is stripping out all the old exhaust
hangers. Like most old cars we work on, this car has a number of different exhaust systems
that have been on it over the years. A 1975 Caprice wasn't really cool here until a few
years ago. So most of the work that would have been done to this car over the years
would have been real, probably low quality, just enough to keep the car on the road. So
he's going to pull all the old hangers out, so he's got a nice clean under-car to work
on. Some of the cars we work on we do full frame-off restorations. Not this one, this
was more budget conscious than that, we left the car sitting on the frame we're not painting
the underside of the car or anything. So Dave's getting lots of dirt in his eyes! Now we're
moving the hangers from the back of the car. You can see that this car is set up for the
possibility of dual exhaust. There's a riser there and it rises up the same over there.
And you can see it's had dual exhaust on it before, because there is a hanger on both
sides here at the rear.
