Welcome. This short demo shows you how to use the OLS to access students assignments
to mark, where to find the marking guides, and how to upload your feedback.
From the OLS home page, select Process assessments.
Go to Mark assessments area for any unmarked assessments.
To download each assignment, go to the Result
slip column and click the link. The link takes you to the Assignment details
page. You will find details here that might help
you with marking the assignment. Check if there are any messages from the student
here. If there is a green tick, click this icon
for an introduction from your student. This is how it could look. Click Close to
finish. To download the assignment files, click the
link to save to your computer. To find a copy of the original assignment
and marking guide for the assignment you are working on, go to Marking information.
Then select from a Teaching section. Select from a Subject panel.
Click the links View LA and View MG to download the files for the assignment you are working
on. Note that each assignment is referred to by a Learning activity number.
Once you've completed the marking for that assignment, return to Unmarked Assessments
area then click the Result slip link for that assignment.
This takes you back to the Assignment details page.
Scroll down to enter your result. Choose from P for Pass, F for Fail, S for
Satisfactory, U for Unsatisfactory or a Grade if the assignment is graded.
Adjust the Yes or No for Claim for payment as appropriate.
Notice that there are two optional features: Use the Teacher's notes area for any queries
or notes to the Head teacher (and/or anyone in the teaching section). These notes are
optional and are not viewable by the student. Use the Follow up area for any reminder notes
(to yourself) during the course of marking an assessment. These notes are optional and
are removed after the assignment has been marked.
Click Next. This is the Upload feedback page. It confirms
the result you have entered. To upload your feedback, click Yes.
Click Browse, select your file, then Upload. You should receive a message confirming that
your result and feedback has been successfully uploaded.
You can also check the status of any assignments you have marked in the Marked Assignments
tab. To continue marking the remainder of the assignments
allocated to you, repeat the steps for each one.
