This week’s Music Monday is going to be really short
because we gotta watch the last episode of Game of Thrones
SOOOOOOOO
take it away Spudgy!
Jeffrey why are you such a huge d***
wanna punch you wanna hit you wanna bite you
Just joking. But on a similar dire wolf vein
this kpop music Monday will get you a copy of the new
EXO CD, with EXO’s Wolf!
Now, we wanted to review wolf last week
but we waited a week for the drama version to come out
but it’s NOT out yet
SM, why are you so delayed?
Luckily for you, though
SM showed us the drama version beforehand
so, we’ve got a sneak peak of it for you
Bella, I imprinted on your baby
Wait,
that can’t be right
But what’s up with with all the werewolf themes lately?
Seriously?!
There are tons of really cool animals that would have
worked out for this, you know
I’m a duck, I’m a duck
pppppppchweeeeeeeeeeeee……
pppppppchweeeeeeeeeeee
I just really wanted to show you my duck impersonation.
I’m really good at ducks.
pppppppchweeeeeeeeeeee
As for the song itself,
it’s so disjointed
that I was weirded out upon my first listen
but then I felt like this would be the perfect epic theme song
for an anime about ninja wolf boys
I really thought that I would hate this
strange, strange song, but
actually?
I kinda love it now.
I beg to differ!!
30 seconds to disagree starting…
nowwwwwwww.
This song reminded me of Maxstep in that
Maxstep was more a performance piece
with a song to accompany it
I think that this song was a great dance
but as a song on its own it was kind of lame.
You don’t think that the chorus was amazing?
I thought that whole like “Nega wolf, nega wolf!”, like
“AWOOOOOOO!” part
was so catchy!
I thought that the “nega wolf!” part was awesome but
the “AWOOOO!” part was lame and the “SARANGHEYO”
was ultra corny.
Well I mean it kinda felt like a musical piece to begin with
so it needed to have a little bit of like drama
and if they didn’t have any drama flare
then how would it be a song that’s all wolf-y?
Well I agree that there’s drama too
but the song itself is so patchwork-y it’s so---
* beep beep beep *
Good day sir
Hi,
and welcome back to Fangirling with Fangurilla
I’m your host, Seungrina.
Hay giiirrllls. Hey, yeah.
Today we’re talking about the long awaited return
of EXO! They’re finally back!
I know!!
Let’s just take a minute to talk about Kai
Oh boy, he’s so dreamy! Uh, that’s right
with his braids
and when he raises his little
frail boy arms and growls like a wolf!
That is soooo hot!
I think he’s more like a sweet puppy
rather than a wolf. HAY,
careful Kai, or I’ll put you in a chain.
Yeah, and put you in my bedroom and
never let you out!
You shouldn’t have gotten out last time
how did you find your way out last time
haaaahaahaaa
I’m also really digging that outfit with the sheer arms
and the little puffy wristlets
It says “I’m an aggressive wolf,” but it also says
“I’m very fashion-conscious”
But that’s it for this week’s episode of Fangirling with Fangurilla
Remember girls:
I’m not ugly, I’m exotic!
And I’m also an exotic who’s a fan of EXO.
It’s a double meaning. See you next week! MWA!
Now though this song sounds scattered and confusing,
the lyrics behind this song help shed more light on it
because it has been written from the perspective of a wolf
falling in love with a human
which, by the way is super illegal.
Allow me to highlight my favorite moment in the song:
“I feel the sensation, I’ll take you in one mouthful
like cheese”
Number one, wolves don’t eat cheese.
I’m pretty sure they’re lactose intolerant.
Number two, if you’re going to use sexy imagery
talking to a girl about feeling sensations,
and taking her in one mouthful,
“like cheese” is one of the most un-sexy similes ever!
Cheese, after all, sometimes smells like farts, and feet.
Congrats, EXO, you have officially sung the cheesiest line ever!
Get it? Cheesy? *coughs*
Hey I got a new chorus for you, you ready for this?
I’m a mouse, I’m a mouse! Squeaaak!
Yep, mice, eat cheese? In mouth..
Ok, I love this dance.
Loved it!
From the opening scene of them forming a
weird wavy tree, to the end where they
slap their arms together like wolf jaws?
It was just beautiful to watch twelve people interact
so seamlessly together. Splitting into groups of like,
three, and then six, and then
scattering in and out of the shot like wild
animals to form various wolf packs
I know it was supposed to give them a dangerous kind of
wild animal feel,
but it was pretty much like watching the musical “Cats”
but with less hairy people.
Plus, I can’t really be scared of a wolf with such pretty rainbow hair.
As for the English of the song,
ZERO!
Look, the chorus is about a wolf,
but it’s mispronounced as “OOLF”
“W-O” words in Korean are very difficult to pronounce
since there isn’t really a “w-o” sound in Korean.
“Would the *** woman wound the wolf” is something that
might not sound great coming from a non-native English speaker.
And some people might say that,
that’s the Korean word for wolf, but it isn’t!
The Korean word for wolf is “nukgdae”
Hence, this is why EXO’s Korean song name is
“Beauty and the Wolf”
So, why not use the Korean name instead?!
If you’re gonna sing in English,
knowing that you’re an international band
with so many English speaking fans,
then stick to a word that’s easier to pronounce.
Also keeping in mind your international fans
I’m sure that some Swedish and German fans
had some totally different reactions to this song than most people.
Since, after all, “Ulf,” is a common man’s name, like “Mike.”
So all I could here in this chorus was
“I’m Mike! I’m Mike!” awooooooo~
Once again SM,
zero out of five.
zero.
Last week we put CL versus Park Bom for the
best 2NE1 solo song showdown,
and it wasn’t even a little bit close.
Park Bom nearly crippled CL.
It’s OK CL please don’t cry.
For this week’s showdown we ask you
who channeled their inner animal the best.
EXO in “Wolf”, or TVXQ in “Balloons”?
Old school versus new school, who will win?
Will this be the first showdown that TVXQ “Balloons” ever loses?
It has won every single showdown so far.
Leave your votes in the comments or on our Facebook poll,
and we’ll announce the winners next week.
Oh my gawd you should review Henry’s “Trapped”!
But, won’t that make us too SM biased?
He’s Canadian, you’re Canadian – just do it!
In that case, head on over to Eatyourkimchi.com/kpopcharts and vote there.
Lastly, if you want to win this EXO CD
we wanna give it to you!
Look at it! Look at all the pictures of the boys!
You want it! Yes you do. Here’s what you gotta do to win.
Number one, subscribe to our videos! It’s so easy.
Click on the button here, and you’ll be subscribed.
Number two, we did three reviews of EXO so far,
we did “Wolf,” “Mama,” and, as you know, “What is Love.”
Which is the greatest song in K-pop ever.
In all three videos, we have a hidden annotation.
Those annotations have questions in them
Watch the video and answer the question in the comments to that video
< But Simon, the annotations won’t work! >
If you can’t see the annotations, it probably means
you don’t have your annotations on.
< I don’t know how to turn them on! >
You don’t own a computer.
< I don’t know what I’m doing! > Clearly.
You don’t deserve this CD.
Anyhow, we will pick one winner of this lovely, glorious CD,
and announce the winner next week.
Lastly, don’t forget to like and favorite this video
because we like you, so we buy you CDs
so you, should like this video. Right? Makes sense.

That did not rhyme as well, but I am the Spudgy.
That totally rhymed! Because I’m a wolf, I’m a wolf.
Awoo! You’re scared of me, I’m the cutest little puppy.
I’m a wolf, I’m a wolf! Awoooo!
Look at me, I’m biting with my paws,
even though puppies use their mouths to bite.
