The reunification of both Koreas will be a huge step for world peace and stability for
millions of starving and oppressed North Koreans, but that dream has been shot down multiple
times in the past decade with military threats from both sides, bombings, and underground
nuclear tests. Now South Korea's Park Geun-Hye, who's been in office for a year now has announced
that she will be forming a special committee that will create a blueprint for reuniting
South Korea with North. This sounds great, but how are they going to manage to fit in
Kim Jong Un in there? Surely he's not going to allow a democratic government to step in
and kick him out. Until he passes or some dramatic revolution occurs, I would argue
that this "blueprint" has long ways to go. The biggest obstacle in my opinion if this
reunification ever sees light is not the unification of the people, but rather the legal and financial
issues that come with it. Some say itll cost a $1 trillion. Regardless, the solution for
North Korea right now lies in its people. They will be the ones responsible for any
real positive change in North Korea and it's happening now with secret underground groups
and messengers running back and forth between North Korea and China.
I've never understood dictatorships, because I don't understand how one person can have
so much power. Are the North Koreans really THAT brainwashed that not one person in his
close circle is willing to take him out?
I also think it would be a great step for world peace. It would akin to West Germany
and East Germany reuniting. Im curious to see how would that happen especially with
Kim Jong Un in leadership? How would he give up his power? Would he give up his power as
leader or have a two president system? This guy is not thought of a president but thought
as a god. Why would he willingly give up his power like that? I mean the guy doesn't even
care about his citizens. You hear reports about the tortures and horrific human rights
abuse acts they do. I would be surprised to see him give up his power. If it becomes Korea
again you would see the international community clamoring for the Un regime to be put up for
crimes against humanity. I only sort of see this happening is Kim Jong Un demands some
sort of immunity or a pardon. Im curious how this will work. Who would give up their sovereignty,
who would stay in command, would it be a democracy? I have no idea how this would work. If you
have more information I would love to hear. It's a great step no question about it but
just interested in the logistics and how it would work in the real stage.
