>> GRID Alternatives is taking its show on the road...thanks in part to a $2 million
grant from Wells Fargo.
The California-based renewable energy provider installs solar panels in low-income communities.
GRID kicked off its national expansion with its first out-of-state project near Denver,
with help from some Wells Fargo Volunteers.
>> We're so excited to have a team from Wells Fargo out today they've been super enthusiastic
great workers and we're really excited to be continuing our partnership...
Solar and other renewable energy is a critical part of our energy future and in order to
be able to realize that potential we're going to need all of our communities to buy in
>> The nonprofit's core program, the Solar Affordable Housing Program, was on full display
in Lakewood as volunteers and job trainees installed solar electric systems on 12 homes.
>> Wells Fargo is not only interested in serving our customers but also operating our own operations
in an efficient way, we also want to do that in the communities we serve, so we put solar
up on some of our facilities just as we're helping to do so in the community here with
GRID today.
>> It’s about the home owners and seeing the smile on their face knowing that we're
really helping them with the cost savings in difficulty in paying their energy bills.
