BRYAN TANAKA: So let's implement a new
rule between us.
AMBER: OK.
BRYAN TANAKA: Every time I say "loosen up,"
you almost do that.
AMBER: OK.
BRYAN TANAKA: But you gotta, like, really loose.
So any time, I could just be like, loosen up.
AMBER: Oh, at any time.
BRYAN TANAKA: Yes, exactly.
[LAUGHS]
Focus, focus.
Loosen up, man.
Gosh.
AMBER: It sounds like you're yelling at me.
BRYAN TANAKA: Focus.
It's OK.
Focus, focus.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
BRYAN TANAKA: What's up?
AMBER: Hi.
BRYAN TANAKA: I'm working with Amber, better
known as Obama Girl.
AMBER: (SINGING) 'Cause I got a crush on Obama.
I can't wait till 2008.
BRYAN TANAKA: Just seeing the videos of Amber on YouTube, I
didn't really know what to expect.
A lot of it is her in a bikini.
MALE SPEAKER: That makes me proud to be an American.
MALE SPEAKER: Whoa.
AMBER: Give me a hug.
BRYAN TANAKA: Yeah, I like it, like it.
AMBER: Nice to meet you.
BRYAN TANAKA: Nice to meet you.
AMBER: You're cute.
He's just standing there, and he's super cute.
And I'm like, ah, it's you.
We were dressed alike.
We had the same colors on.
We were saying the same words.
I love him.
BRYAN TANAKA: Get that feeling a little bit--
BRYAN AND AMBER: --and then come back.
Exactly.
Whoa.
BRYAN TANAKA: What the heck.
That wasn't on cue, by the way.
That was just connections happening.
Do you want to be called Obama Girl or Amber?
AMBER: People have been calling me Obama Girl for,
like, four years now.
I definitely like to be called Amber.
As any kind of actress or actor, you play a role, and
then you don't really want to be that role forever.
BRYAN TANAKA: They know your face, they know your look, and
they know Obama Girl.
So what we can do hopefully with this is that we can kind
of re-boost it.
AMBER: And now that the election's heating back up,
everyone wants to know what's Obama Girl doing, who's she
voting for.
She doesn't really like Obama anymore or does she.
It's crazy, so it's getting--
BRYAN TANAKA: [INAUDIBLE]?
AMBER: I'm not gonna tell.
BRYAN TANAKA: It's gonna be a whole new Amber.
It's gonna be a whole new Obama Girl.
And it's gonna be awesome.
[MUSIC - MC LYTE, "JUKE JOINT TOO"]
BRYAN TANAKA: The song that we're using is pretty cool.
It's by a rapper, MC Lyte, which she's, like, OG, one of
the best from back in the day.
AMBER: I think the song's great.
It gets me excited.
When he does the moves, that gets me excited.
I'm just excited.
[LAUGHS]
BRYAN TANAKA: No, you--
AMBER: Ooh, sorry.
BRYAN TANAKA: You're looking at me for the first time.
AMBER: Sorry, sorry.
BRYAN TANAKA: Really?
AMBER: I scratched your arm, sorry.
BRYAN TANAKA: I'm--
I'm bleeding!
AMBER: No, you're not.
BRYAN TANAKA: I'm bleeding!
AMBER: It's not even bleeding.
BRYAN TANAKA: It is.
Look, scratch.
She scratched the heck out of me.
AMBER: You did it yourself.
BRYAN TANAKA: Ah!
Dude, cut your fingernails.
Ah.
AMBER: Drama queen.
BRYAN TANAKA: We look at it, one--
AMBER: And you know what else?
I never count.
BRYAN TANAKA: OK, cool.
That's all good.
AMBER: But count--
BRYAN TANAKA: I'm gonna count to just--
AMBER: Because I'll try to pick up counts, but I usually
just do it on beats.
BRYAN TANAKA: Then once we start hearing the music, then
it'll click for you.
AMBER: Yeah.
[MUSIC - MC LYTE, "JUKE JOINT TOO"]
AMBER: I guess you'd say I have rhythm, which is good,
because I think you need rhythm to dance.
So I think I'm OK with that.
I don't need math.
I need rhythm.
BRYAN TANAKA: This is where (WHISPERING) the
secret comes in.
AMBER: The secret?
BRYAN TANAKA: Shh.
(WHISPERING) Don't tell anyone.
AMBER: (WHISPERING) We have a secret?
BRYAN TANAKA: (WHISPERING) We have a secret.
AMBER: (WHISPERING) OK, what is it?
BRYAN TANAKA: Towards the end, (WHISPERING) you get to
rip my shirt off.
AMBER: Oh!
BRYAN TANAKA: When it comes to performance, wardrobe is key.
AMBER: You should just have on my Obama Girl outfit
underneath.
BRYAN TANAKA: I don't think my form would really go out
everything that's necessary.
AMBER: Or you know, we could just come up
with Obama Boy's outfit.
BRYAN TANAKA: Now you're thinking.
You see, now we're connecting heads.
AMBER: Thong.
BRYAN TANAKA: You know, sometimes sex does sell.
AMBER: I think I'm gonna make t-shirts that say, "I got a
crush on Tanaka." [LAUGHING]
[MUSIC - MC LYTE, "JUKE JOINT TOO"]
BRYAN TANAKA: Step, step, step, push, in.
She was kind of getting bummed that she kept
messing up this one part.
[MUSIC - MC LYTE, "JUKE JOINT TOO"]
BRYAN TANAKA: So I literally just had to
implement a fun aspect.
AMBER: [LAUGHS]
And go.
BRYAN TANAKA: Oh, ***.
[LAUGHTER]
BRYAN TANAKA: Ca-caw, ca-caw.
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo.
AMBER: I'm very giggly today.
This is called--
what are those?
Things that make you happy.
Endorphins.
[MOCK RUSSIAN ACCENT]
What are you doing?
BRYAN TANAKA: [MOCK RUSSIAN ACCENT]
What are you doing?
Was that a accent?
I have a lot of random accents, too.
AMBER: Me too.
BRYAN TANAKA: OK, good.
AMBER: [MOCK BRITISH ACCENT]
I don't know what this one is, but I'm talking like it.
BRYAN TANAKA: You don't know what this one is.
AMBER: No.
[MOCK BRITISH ACCENT]
All of a sudden, we turned into different characters.
But then our dancing got better and better.
BRYAN TANAKA: No, no.
Six, seven, eight, push, in, push and flick.
[LAUGHTER]
BRYAN TANAKA: That was pretty good, actually.
AMBER: Was it?
BRYAN TANAKA: Well, there was definitely some mess-ups.
AMBER: Yeah.
BRYAN TANAKA: So don't think it's perfect, because--
AMBER: I know it's not.
BRYAN TANAKA: We're on the right track, though.
AMBER: We're on the right track to success.
BRYAN TANAKA: Yeah.
To success and winning.
AMBER: Now loosen up!
BRYAN TANAKA: Me?
[LAUGHTER]
