In this video, you’ll learn how to create a simple parallax animation for your photo
using SmartSHOW 3D.
First, you’ll need to cut the subject from the chosen photo and add it to a transparent background.
You can make it in any image editor, for example, Home Photo Studio (check out the link in the
description below).
Next, create a new project in SmartSHOW 3D, and add the initial photo to the Storyboard.
Click Edit Slide and stretch the picture to get rid of the black borders.
Click Add Layer to place the edited image over the first layer.
Resize it and carefully place over the subject.
Change the slide and transition duration to let the viewer take a good look at your parallax animation.
Switch to the Animation tab to work with the second photo with a transparent background.
In Keyframe #1, make the girl in the picture bigger by clicking the Magnifying Lens button.
Don’t forget to place a larger image over the initial one so that the viewer will see
only one girl.
Add Keyframe #2 closer to the end of the slide.
Further increase the second edited photo and reposition it on the slide.
Move back to the Slide tab and click on the initial image.
Now, it’s time to set an animation effect for this layer.
Add a new keyframe and position it on the timeline.
Your animation of the background image should play one second after the animation of the
edited photo ends.
Once again use the Magnifying Lens tool to bring the field in the background closer.
Make sure that the girl in the foreground completely overlaps the girl in the background.
Click the position arrows to move it right or left, up and down.
Let’s see our parallax animation in action.
Click Play, and your photo will come to life!
Want to make this animation even better?
Click Add Layer > Highlights and Textures and browse through the collection of ready-to-go effects.
Choose the one you like and add it to the slide.
Use a highlight to imitate sun rays.
While on the Slide tab, use the green arrows on the toolbar to send this highlight layer
backwards and put it between two photo copies.
That way you’ll achieve a more immersive effect.
Switch to the Animation tab.
In Keyframe #1, reduce the highlight opacity and increase its size.
Add Keyframe #2 and slightly move the mask on the slide.
Click Play and enjoy the result.
