This presentation will explain how to use Find it!
Find it! provides a systematic way to retrieve journal articles that you find in most databases.
Let’s start by searching for articles on organic farming in the Ebsco databases.
You will retrieve a list of articles that seem relevant.
If the article is available in the database you are searching, you will often see links to the html or pdf
However, if the article you are interested in does not have links to the full text...
click on Find it! if you want to see if this article is available in any format in the university libraries.
This article is published in the Journal of Environmental Management, vol. 114 p. 404-413.
If you look under Full Text Available, you are able to retrieve the full-text of this article. Click on Find at ScienceDirect Journals.
This is the summary of the article. Click on PDF to retrieve the full-text.
This is the first page of the 12 page article. You may print, e-mail or save this article.
However, not all articles are available full-text. The Libraries’ collection contains many journals in paper and in microfiche.
In this example, the article whose title is Local Food Systems and Sustainable Agriculture is in the journal: American Journal of Alternative
Agriculture, v. 12, no.1
There are no links for full text. However, the Libraries may still own electronic or paper copies.
In the section “Library Catalog,” under print holdings you can quickly see if the library has the item.
In this case, the information states that the library does have volume 12 no. 1 in paper.
If this information were missing or if you would like to obtain the call number and map for the title, click on the library catalog searches.
You can go to the library shelf to pick up the item or you may request the library to scan it and
deliver it through the RazorRush Document Delivery.
For RazorRush, just click on the Article, Conference Paper or Chapter Request link to start the process.
and logon with your Illiad Username and password.

You may change the Not Wanted After Date, click on Submit Request, and it is done.
Let’s try to find another article through Find it!
This article whose title is Organic farming and rural development: some evidence from Austria is published in the journal: Sociologia Ruralis, 2005.
Find It! does not indicate that there are online full-text resources available.
In this case, you may want to search the online catalog by either the title or ISSN, to see if it is available in another format
You will still able to get this article through the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Service .
Just click on the Article, Conference Paper or Chapter Request link and you are on your way.
